Would we really be saying this if the Halos didn't play below average most of the season? We just had two hot streaks, the usual one before the All-Star Break and this one here that ended 2 games ago.

 

No we wouldn't.  It's a 162 game season and early in the year I'm sure people were happy we could end it against a team no one expected to be leading the division especially after some of the injuries they had to their staff.  If you end up saying Houston makes the post season because they're 14-3 in inter league games you can say the Angels lost it because they're 8-12 in inter league. 

 

Still 3 games left with a shot at the playoffs and meaningful games in October.  Hoping for the best.

At least Houston can't use a DH these next three games.

 

Strangely enough, with the roster expansion for September.. I think they welcome this even more. Get your guys more rest, people just pinch hit when it's the pitcher's turn to bat. They'll have no worries as to who is left on the bench and who isn't.

I hate interleague

 

Agree 1000% - It's time to ditch this. This is the reason the All Star Game ratings tumbled. Why watch to see "Kershaw vs. Trout" when they've already played? So stupid Bud-Nuggets decides to "spice it up" by making 'This One Counts' BS...so people will watch.

 

Ditch interleague - then the All-Star game will mean seeing Andrew McCutchen face off against King Felix...

 

Hey Commish - instead of worrying about Pete Rose - do this:

 

Ditch Interleague Play

Find a new schedule maker (like that couple who did it for 20 years) because your computer blows.

Just alternate the world series sites - or use best record. Bud is a liar when he said they need time to set up. Really? So the NBA or NHL don't need time to set up for their finals?

 

I'm sure the powerful D-Backs will be fired up to play the 'stros....Stupid...

I love how when we are losing, Interleague is stupid.  But when we were making the playoffs in the early 2000's, and dominating the NL, interleague was the greatest thing.

 

I think the point he is making is that teams are playing outside of the division -- maybe that's not what he meant but it is something that chaps me, be it an AL or NL opponent.  

 

 

Impossible to ditch interleague after they realigned the leagues. 

 

With both the AL and NL now having 15 teams, interleague play is necessary everyday, otherwise you have an odd team out

 

 

Seems more likely they add two teams to even the schedule issues than ditch interleague.  But depending on the sort of revenue it creates, I doubt MLB would ever move away from interleague play if there is even a shred of profit in doing it.

but hopefully this will work out to our advantage if the Halos man up and play better baseball

Yes they should play in division but there are 15 teams per league so there has to be one inter league series going on at all times including opening day (which bothers me more) and the final weekend.

I agree.  With two 15 team leagues, you have to an interleague game every day, the math says so....How are the schedule makers to know, a year in advance, what game(s) would effect the playoffs?  Since we have just about ditched any pretense of seperation of the two leagues with that set up, I'd like to see them re-do the whole thing and particularly get rid of the one game wild card....

Somebody has to play an interleague game.

 

I guess they tried to have the two most irrelevant teams play the interleague series at the end of this season.  Turns out though that Houston is relevant.  Who knew.

guess i didnt think about the math aspect

well then the whole thing stinks

just glad its not our team having to deal with this
