I'd really miss Skaggs and Santiago if Trumbo were still here, especially when Blanton and Shoemaker would be our 4/5 starters.

I live here in Kentucky. My Wildcats started winning huge when John Calipari came to town. Guess what? Louisville and Indiana suddenly stepped up their game out of necessity and now they are two of the top six or seven programs in the country right now. A rising tide lifts all boats.
 
Arte is a smart man or he wouldn't be where he is in life. He knows he has messed up a good thing with Pujols and Hamilton and firing many of the scouts. First and foremost he's going to pick one between Scioscia and Dipoto and try to find a GM/Coach combo that can work together. Secondly he's going to do what it takes to put a pitching staff together that can make the playoffs. The Angels have scored more runs than many of the teams that are going to the playoffs this year. He is aware of his reputation based on the Albert Pujols and Hackilton signings. He's not going down that road again. Instead, he's going to secure the one thing that his fanbase can cling to right now....Trout.   

wow. that is extremely impressive.  Angels better lock his ass up this off season or there will be bad blood come free agency.

That's definitely going to help the Angels cause.

I think they need to convert their outfield depth to some more pitching.  Trading one of Trumbo or Bourjos will not cripple this team, but either of those might bring in significant pitching depth to this org.
 
And I would also roll the dice on cuban Alfredo Gonzalez in the FA market.  He's 26 and if he's a quick study he might be a late season call up for our bullpen in a pinch.

Stand pat but inquire about Cliff Lee. Word is the Phills will part with him on the cheap if a suitor takes on his remaining contract.

I want to win this one really bad tonight. Not just because we always suck on ESPN or National TV, but because it's against the Boston Red Sox and John Lackey on national tv. 

The way our boys are playing right now I'm glad the whole country gets to watch them tonight on ESPN. Weav is back to form, Howie is playing with something to prove, Josh has found his power, and Albert apparently can still make an appearance in the field, along with our main attraction Mr. Mike Trout.  Find a chair, a cold drink and enjoy the show America!

Oh yeah, how about a standing O for Jason Vargas. He's looking like our best SP. Would be great to have Jerome Williams in our rotation over Blanton, but I think that will happen before too long. Hanson pitching better. I like it. 
 
Pujols, Callaspo and Bourjos had a great night at the plate. Hamilton looked better.
