I don’t know if I’ve ever missed a player so much. So much fun to watch and was still solid when he called it a career. 

You can't teach that.

I like victor a good deal - he can be really interesting. But my continuing issue with him is too much dead air plus too many times where he and Gubi seem to be having an inside conversation in front of all of us. I don’t feel like I get enough information from them.

Out here at the game. Apparently it’s Captain Morgan day.  I’ve seen this fuc*king guy cosplaying as Captain Morgan before but was unaware that they had a day.  I don’t know why.  But I hate this dude.

Or maybe he should sue the crap out of that doctor for having the hair transplant not take. After all, if the transplant took, you wouldn't be able to see the scar.

absolutely the first thing I thought of and Mike seemed to dance a little bit when there was opportunity to mention Albert by name.  I think Albert regrets leaving St. Louis, but for all his faults, he's been a really good mentor to Mike and a lot of other guys on this team.

The one thing I got from the press conference is that Billy Eppler is the MAN. Ohtani,Trout and the farm system all have his fingerprints on them. Seeing Mike Trout getting choked up about the Angels made me proud to be an Angel fan today.Great day.

Ohtani is the next guy, but I think we can not worry about that for a couple more years.  For me, I’m as excited to watch Ohtani as I am Trout. He’s fantastic.

I actually think he was/is close to an ace and MVP caliber hitter. And yeah, he's an absolutely incredible talent.
Pitching - the numbers were good, not great, but the stuff we saw was filthy: ace level. The question is health and endurance, but he has the potential for a 2.50 ERA in 150 innings.
Hitting - Among players with 350+ PA last year, his wRC+ of 152 was 8th in the majors -- better than Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt. I suspect he was pretty close to his upside, though, and we should be happy if he consolidates - with perhaps a higher BA.
So in 2018, Ohtani was basically Goldschmidt pitching like a good #3, which yielded a total of 3.8 WAR (2.8/1.0) in 367 PA and 51 IP. I suspect he's capable of #1-2 starter performance and twice that WAR, maybe more, in a peak year.
