meh. whatever. you want guys to show what they are made of now when it doesn't matter so we don't go into next year with him as our closer.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to bloodbrother in Angels hopeful of landing Ian Kennedy
First, wouldn't want Kennedy at all, period. Guy had one good year and has been Joe Blanton bad this season. 2. If they do end up getting him, they better not be giving up anything of much worth
Either way, don't like the sounds of any of this.

AngelsAndRamsFan got a reaction from Tyler in Angels and Dodgers have "casual conversation" about Kendrick
@Alden_Gonzalez: Hear #Angels' chances of making another deal before Deadline now "better than 50/50." Lotsa interest. "Vultures are circling," source said.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to mulwin444 in Four games, four leads, four losses
It's really hard to put into words but this team is just a bad mix overall Call it "chemistry" if you want but the team just refuses to gel. Just observational but:
1) Some of hitters have close to zero situational awareness. Take last night's 1st and 3rd, no outs, situation - all Trumbo has to do in this scenario is make decent contact (a medium fly ball or a slow ground ball) and runner scores from third but he's up there taking his usual hacks at the ball. Same with Howie, the guy just refuses to change his approach when the situation calls for it. I don't have an issue per say with Conger's AB as he battled back from 0-2 and honestly hasn't received a lot of chances batting right handed.
2) What happened to the running game? We have a roster ful of decent speed from Shuck, Aybar, Trout, Trumbo, Hamilton, Kendrick, Callaspo, ect...these are not the '87 Tigers. So how is it we lead the A.L. in double plays? What happened to the hit and run? Aybar only has 4 stolen bases all year. It just seems that if you are seeing an exhorbinate amount of DP's you may want to put a play on now and then.
3) Overall slopiness from errors to base-running gaffs to poor execution in general. When you see preventable errors happening on a consistent basis, you wonder "how are these things being addressed?" or "Are they being addressed at all?". This goes beyond the dreaded contact play or rally-killing outs on the basepaths where the runner scores with two-outs on a single and batter needlessly Kamikaze's himself by drawing the cut-off throw. The team seems unprepared or appears to have no plan or strategy in certain circumstances.
Homestly, I don't know how you overcome having the among the worst batting average with RISP or allowing the highest average to opposing batters with two outs or a plethora of unearned runs. How do you overcome your $25 mil OF batting like Vernon Wells? Or the rash of injuries that have hit the team? It's just a bad mix and I think it needs to be dismanted at this point.
Trade Aybar, Kendrick, Trumbo, Ianetta (if anyone will take him), keep Blanton and Williams in the BP, give Vargas a qualifying offer, and keep a core together of Pujols, Hamilton (as both are untradeable), Trout, Bourjos, Calhoun, Conger, Weaver, Wilson and add pieces where you can at this point.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to EDinTUSTIN in Tonight's Game
LOL @ several gold gloves at two of those positions? Which ones are you referring to? Pujols has 2 - that is not bad, but over the length of his career it doesn't make him Keith Hernandez with the leather. The only other gold glove on this team is from Eric Aybar, with a grand total of 1. Wow, these guys sure can flash the leather. The outfield of Trout, Bourjos, and Hamilton should be excellent defensively? I suppose you didn't see the disgrace in the outfield in that last A's - Angels matchup on Sunday. Trout is usually very good, but no gold glove yet has been awarded. Hamilton has never won one, and Bourjos is a superior defender - but he is rarely in uniform, Shoulda, woulda, coulda is not a formula for a great defense. Ianetta sucks, and when was the last time we had a pitcher win a gold glove?

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to gotbeer in Cano in the off-season?
no matter how much I want to say no. Deep down, I know there is a chance that Moreno will want to justify a ticket price increase by signing a marquee player.
-
AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to bloodbrother in Gameday Thread: 7/29/13 Angels vs. Rangers
Rangers fans should be giving him a standing ovation. One of their division rivals is stuck paying him $25 mill a year for the "production" he's putting up. He's helping the Rangers more than he did last season

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to FireThemAll in How many feel the Angels should give up on 2014?
I'd rather finish in 4th place and have a sense of direction with young talent in the system, then finish in 4th place with no sense of direction at all like the current team.
So, I think you're wrong on this one

No......you've done enough already. In fact you've taken this team to a whole new level.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to tdawg87 in Can we all agree that Jerome Williams...
He's been in the rotation full time since June 22 and he has 1 quality start over that span. He is 0-5 with a 8.90 ERA and a 2.01 WHIP in those 7 starts.
Yeah, the excuse that he is being "misused" is no longer relevant. He has been absolutely awful for over a month now. It's clear that he is best suited for long relief. I thought he could cut it as a number 5 but he obviously can't.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to bloodbrother in Pujols DL bound, perhaps?
Mike DiGiovanna â€@MikeDiGiovanna 11m
#Angels DH Albert Pujols has returned to SoCal to be evaluated. Re-injured L foot Fri night. Doesn't look good. Out for a while.
Mike DiGiovanna â€@MikeDiGiovanna 1m
My take on Pujols from covering Scioscia for many years. By way #Angels MGR spoke today, Albert appears headed for DL.
I hope this is the case. Season is lost, time to let him get surgery or do whatever to help get this thing fixed for next year.

AngelsAndRamsFan got a reaction from Vladdylonglegs in Gameday Thread: 7/26/13 Angels vs. Oakland- No Kendrick
@MikeDiGiovanna: #Angels not getting much bang for their buck. Of their 108 HRs, 73 are solo shots, an AL-high 67.6%. http://t.co/yVNRATVzdk
