I don't think Conger is this bad.  Unfortunately, no catcher is good enough for the Fat Man unless his name is Jeff Mathis.

It has to be torture being a catcher in the Angels organization with MS there nitpicking everything they do.

    Scioscia never makes bad moves.
He manages the same way he always has, the same way that won a world series, and he will tell you that.
His underlings are the hardest working people in the game.
    Just ask him.
This team is almost where it needs to be, just missing a few spots. A few flies in the ointment is his new line this year, but he only used that one once The rest of them have been the same....but that was a clever twist... for Scioscia.
He has said the same thing for over a decade, WHEN he graciously allows someone to question him.
He has BS'd his through so many baseball seasons, it is unprecedented how long he has been allowed to BS his way through.

I have been actively pointing out Scioscias deficiencies for so long, at least 5 years, that I figure people that haven't seen it yet, will NEVER allow them selves to see how bad he is.
This is nothing new. It is the never ending story X10.
    Squeaky parrot voice here..
    Who would be better?
    Cant afford it!
    Not gonna eat his money!

Scioscia has been outed as mediocre, over rated, and just plain incompetent for years.
There are only a few very vocal, smartass, and heavily invested backers in the Angels MB community that still try to defend the guy.
These people will call YOU a bad baseball fan, before they ever admit that Scioscia was DONE years ago.

For those of us that have known it for a long time, there is, SADLY, a certain amount of satisfaction watching him spiral down in flames..but it is SO SAD...
    WHY????
We love this team, we want them to win, and we knew it was not going to happen under the current regime.
WE HAVE KNOWN IT FOR YEARS, AND HAVE BEEN ATTACKED EVER TIME WE TRY TO SAY IT.
Scioscia is going to get fired, and things WILL get better, and it should have happened years ago...YEARS AGO.
Despite wailing and gnashing of teeth from his die-hard supporters....
    Things WILL get better.
Hard for me to believe that so many good fans have taken this long to grasp any reality, concerning Scioscia.
What a waste of whole baseball seasons.

''Trum is definitely finding his comfort level in the box,'' Angels' manager Mike Scioscia said. ''It's good to see from some guys. Trum, Mike and Howie got in the act today and we needed every one of them.''

Okay, I know we won and everything, but I cringe every time I hear these silly nicknames. What's wrong with just calling him Mark?

This is all about preparation that starts in Spring Training. Mike Scioscia failed to get the team to take the spring games seriously. This is the culture that he's created and the results speak for themselves.

is that every loss brings us 1 game closer to hitting bottom and making the necessary changes to move forward.  Whether that's firing Butcher and/or Scioscia and/or Dipoto and/or Arte finally getting the point that mortgaging the future and signing the biggest FA year after year is not a good way to run a successful organization,

I don't know if it's the environment here. I don't know if it's the coaching and preparation. What I do know is it seems for the past few years a majority of the players the Angels have brought in have not performed as well here as they did in their previous organization. On the other hand, a majority of the players who have left here have performed better when they have left. Scouts have been held responsible, coaches have been held responsible, general managers have been held responsible, players have been held responsible. Hell, I think even the trainer and clubhouse guy were held responsible. To me, there's only three guys left from the downfall of the glory years of 2002-2009 who have a major impact on the team. So who is it? Arte? Scioscia? Butcher? Where does the buck stop?

If you're at the point that you need to have a closed door meeting with your team, then you're not doing enough to motivate your team on a day to day basis.

At this point, I think the front office and the coaching staff need to have a closed door meeting.
