AO, he has signed a total of TWO big name free agents, TWO!!! We're not talking Steinbrenner here. What I don't understand is why you don't understand that in baseball you are paid for what you have done not what you're going to do. It's not how it should be but that is how it has been ever since they have been giving out 5 plus year contracts. I really don't care what the players get paid, mainly because, at least lately, Arte is willing to have a large payroll. Just think about what Arte did last offseason, he signed Hamilton for $125 million contract a year after signing Pujols and this was after Pujols had a down year. He didn't sign him because he was "star struck" that is asinine. He signed him because he wants to win. So if he decides he wants to sign MCab at age 33 to an 8 year contract go ahead and bitch while I go ahead and appreciate his commitment to winning.

The biggest signings have been grossly underperforming and that's not the owner or GM's fault. Blanton was a flat out bad signing which you can blame the GM for but the starters being hit with injuries aren't anyone's fault.
