Don't hold your breath. It is a lengthy article, a lot of facts to have to take in.

Hey Guys.  This is David, Matt's Dad.  Thank you for the kind words and the laughs.  I have been on the board for quite some time, but do not write too many comments. Just to clear a couple of things up.  My wife, Karen, Matt's Mom does not have a beard.  HaHa  I do not have a full beard now but did a few years ago. Just a mustache and goatee now.  Thanks for supporting Matt.  He is a great young man who has worked his butt off to get to where he is at.  I am so glad he was finally given the chance to help this team.  We are so blessed that he has performed the way he has.  He will give you every thing he has each time he pitches.  I hope it continues. GO ANGELS!

Hitting the ball hard to different parts of the field. When was the last time he drove in 3 runs? Nice to see him looking better even if only for one game.

I can almost guarantee there'll be a former Angel on the list--Rob Quinlan. Definitely a doper.

Well I suppose for dark ages me, those three numbers, or actually two numbers that I referred to, are just completely meaningless--home runs and rbis. So clearly, the two home runs and 5 rbis Pujols has hit in the last two games, don't mean anything. Or the fact that he's now tied for 6th in the AL in home runs and 10th in rbis show that he clearly sucks and isn't worth his money. Pitchers just can't wait for him to come up and potentially hit a home run or drive in a run and do other meaningless things at the plate.
Guess I'm just old and old school, but I still think 19 home runs and 55 rbis is playing some good baseball, and I'm glad he's done that.
By the way, I'm just taking advantage of a rare two game burst by Pujols to poke a bit of fun rather than trying to start something with you, full circle. I'm not so blind to see that he hasn't struggled and I know more advanced metrics tell "more of the story" but I am mostly confused by most of those stats and prefer the ones I understand, like the ball going over the fence and runners crossing the plate.

Just got back from the game about 30 minutes ago. Tough loss but really fun game to attend. We were behind home plate, up against the back wall under an overhang. We saw several other Angels fans. The weather was most cooperative, and really rather perfect. The Indians fans largely ignored us, which was nice. No one was rude at all, even when we were cheering pretty loud in the top of the 10th.
Couple of observations. It's a nice ballpark.
Angels looked asleep for the first half of the game--no enthusiasm, no energy, no real excitement. They should have tagged Masterson who did not look very sharp at all.
CJ labored a couple of times, but in a few innings looked really sharp. It depended on whether he could locate the change.
Ump was pretty consistent calling balls and strikes, a bit of a generous strike zone. Swisher was the only one really complaining, but I guess he got his revenge.
Great to see Pujols two hits more up the middle and to right center to drive in the runs. He took what he was given and delivered.
The bullpen sucks. After the Angels took the lead, the crowd (and it was a decent crowd) began to file out in part. My friend said "they must not know our bullpen." Enough said. So, it's his fault the Angels lost because he jinxed them.
Last observation. My kids had a GREAT time attending their first major league ballgame. I told them if it was any consolation, that when I was their age and went to Angels games, they mostly lost.

Day game in Cleveland, a 4 1/2 hour drive from West Michigan. I can't wait. I haven't actually been to see a game in several years. I always plan to go see them in Detroit or Chicago but just haven't been able to work it out. But tomorrow, I'm taking two of my kids and going with another board member (a longtime lurker but very rare poster). Hope it doesn't rain, but even more, I'm hoping for a game something like yesterday's but maybe with Pujols also hitting.

Good call. From this sentence, I can see why he was "and of their five starters, only Joe Blanton has had a decent spring."

Soto, nobody said you cannot question Scioscia. The problem we have is creating fire Scioscia threads after every loss or questionable call.

Yesterday was the first game I've been able to see. I was very impressed with Pujols, from his opening defensive grab, to legging out the triple even after watching it fly at first (would have been a home run in a lot of parks). He looks comfortable and confident at the plate, he looks not trim but more trim, and he looks much more comfortable standing and running. I'm excited. I also thought Hamilton looked good hitting, running, and fielding.

It's amazing to have such a young player with such talent who is not a prima donna, or a showboater, or all about himself all the time. Angels are very lucky.
