When was the last time Scioscia was worried?

I read this article on the Angels site--http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140426&content_id=73434704&notebook_id=73434710&vkey=notebook_ana&c_id=ana titled Scioscia not worried about Trout's K rate.

I'm not worried about it either, But it reminded me that there are often such articles, where a potential concerned is raised followed by a response from Scioscia that expresses he is not concerned. So, I wondered, when was the last time he expressed actual concern about an area?

If Mike Scioscia didn't have to actually respond to constant questions I think his standard answer to every question ever by reporters would be "meh".  He's possibly the worst interview in MLB.

I talked with Sam Miller about this before on Twitter and he actually said he enjoyed Scioscia as an interviewer.  He's candid and so experienced with the media that he realizes they have a job to do as well, so he does his best to cooperate and give them the necessary sound-bites and quotes to take back to their editor.

Granted, all of these quotes come straight out of the book of cliches, but he's not Bill Belichek.  Scioscia's fine with interviews.

Mike Scioscia: Angels pitching struggles a concern
After a 13-9 loss to the Kansas City Royals, the Angels' manager acknowledges that the team's 7.26 ERA this late in spring is something to watch.

Good call. From this sentence, I can see why he was "and of their five starters, only Joe Blanton has had a decent spring."

Seeing that Frieri is no longer the closer, he was worried about putting Frieri out in the 9th.

I don't  understand this thread. Do manager that worry perform better? Are they supposed to disclose their concerns to the media?

Just because he doesn't express his concerns to the media doesn't mean that he doesn't have any. Scoioscia's decisions sometimes drive me nuts. too, but this is a non-issue to me.

Oh -- that's probably all true.  I'm mostly referring to his cliche handbook he never sways from.  I've heard he's actually quite entertaining to be around but when asked stuff -- it's cliche time and and then turn the page.  I don't understand how he's managed to keep from snapping at someone in all these years.

I don't think i'd have it in me to answer the same stupid questions year after year as if it has any impact on the outcome.

He's candid??

I gave up getting any info from a Mike Scioscia quote a decade ago, but he's anything BUT candid.  Championship caliber, tip the cap, turn the page, ball coming out of his hand well, square up the ball, blah blah blah.  He has zero candor.
