i met matt at the last fanfest i went to. he and mike piazza were chilling outside before we had our big dinner. i introduced myself and they introduced themselves. i asked matt where he expected to be pitching the next year (i think this was 2013) and he looked at me kind of confused and said "anaheim." i thought "that's cool, even though i've never heard of you on any of our prospect lists. kind of a bold prediction for you, kid."

he has delivered. think how SOL we'd be without him right now.

David,

I see that you have an outstanding daughter in law. Loved her twitter to Middlebrook when he broke up the no hitter - "Middlebrooks you butthole". Danielle seems like a feisty partner .

She later deleted it. So much for grit and determination. C'mon Danielle! LOL

One of the biggest surprises and biggest reasons for the team's dramatic turnaround this year

He's finally gotten his opportunity and is taking full advantage of it. 12 wins despite not starting the year in the rotation. Damn impressive

Absolutely!

Hey Guys. This is David, Matt's Dad. Thank you for the kind words and the laughs. I have been on the board for quite some time, but do not write too many comments. Just to clear a couple of things up. My wife, Karen, Matt's Mom does not have a beard. HaHa I do not have a full beard now but did a few years ago. Just a mustache and goatee now. Thanks for supporting Matt. He is a great young man who has worked his butt off to get to where he is at. I am so glad he was finally given the chance to help this team. We are so blessed that he has performed the way he has. He will give you every thing he has each time he pitches. I hope it continues. GO ANGELS!

David,

It is so great to see your son having so much success in the big leagues. He should be in the rookie of the year running IMO, and so far is one of the Angels MVP's on the roster this season.

Where would this team be without Shoe? Definitely looking up Oakland's rearend, that's for sure.
