Esco wasn't gonna be the team's 2B by the time Freese's price tag came down. Freese could have filled Choi's or Cron's spot, but with the current state of the organization I think we were better off using that playing time to determine if Cron, Gia, and Choi's long-term value to the club over one extra season of 30-something David Freese. I'm maintaining that competing is secondary to Eppler's primary plan of using 2016 as an assessment year, a make or break year for our dearth of mediocre players who have some upside still. Guys like Cron, Gia, Perez, Shoe, Cowart.

Which might explain why players want to play for him. He is going to give that starter a chance to win the game, the closer to set a single season record, the hitter a chance to break the slump.

You guys are forgetting one small thing. If we would have signed him he wouldn't have lasted a year and we would not only be looking for another 3rd baseman but a short stop as well. The first walk off hit Beltre got for the Angels Aybar would have gone crazy and touched Beltre's precious head. Beltre would have then murdered Aybar on live TV. I would put Simmons there since he's heating up and rarely strikes out.

They still check all your bags and make you go through a metal detector.

Pre-check is much faster, and you don't have to go through the body scanner.
That said it also depends upon the airport you are flying into and out of. LAX terminal 4, much faster. Tucson not much difference since it is one line anyway.
Keeping your shoes on,not having to take your laptop out, and just using the metal detector are major pluses.
My guess is that your friend that said no hasn't been through the cattle line in a long time so they really can't compare.

oh yeah.  I meant to write in that he's been bad too, but pennington has been good and they've essentially been splitting time. We've probably gotten more out of our bench and LF in 8 games than we did all of last year.
