Dumbass, neto nearly threw that away. If Thaiss hadn't come off the ground it ends up in the dugout.
Oh yeah, and genius DFAing a guy hitting .302 with nearly a .400 obp.

Pretty desperate when you have to pitch your backup first baseman because your backup center fielder is not available because he pitched yesterday.

Instead of banning you, which will ultimately probably happen, how bout we laugh at your horrendous takes.

Let me add, I have no problem with Blum lifting up the rock to show what's underneath but he had to know they wouldn't tolerate it every episode. He basically fired himself being himself. Blum, like Adell, needs to learn how to play the game a little better.

TurboFan reacted to greginpsca in MLB Pipeline minor league system rankings: Angels 28th
I don't give much credibility to any of these so-called prospect rankers. Majority of them have east coast bias'. Funny how they rate the Yankees way too high every year, it seems. If their farm is so good, why do they have to sign so many free agents every year. They trade most of their prospects. And those guys they trade usually flop with their new team. They would be the last team i would ever want the Angel to trade with. If a team is regularly able to promote 2 of their guys a year to mlb, they are doing good. I made a prediction awhile back that 3 of the 4 Angels minor league teams would be in the playoffs in 2023. Even if i am right, those fools that do the rankings will still put the Angels down near the bottom of the heap.

It has to suck to have your season ended two years in a row because you have to have surgery.  Then to have the fan base be complete assholes after having two surgeries, yea, I wouldn’t give a shit about what those assholes thought either.

I am not angry about someone’s business decision. It’s his team, not mine. He could have sold to another disappointing owner so selling is not guaranteed to be better. (the guy that owns the LA Times could have actually been worse than Arte), But I am “Big Disappointed” that we are not going to get a needed owner upgrade right now.  “Big Disappointed” was not a poll option, so I picked “very angry”, which is less false than the other poll options. Winning cures everything, so if they don’t have an awesome winning season, then I will be “Big Mad”. It’s January, so I am filled with pre-season hope - yet again. Oh, vey.

I honestly don't care. As long as the team will spend what's necessary on development and keeping talent here, I don't care who the owner is.
Glad you're back Arte. Now change everything about the way you've done things since 2010 and we'll all be happy.

Why would Moreno want to split downtown LA with the Dodgers instead of owning the massive Orange County market and drawing some of the “LA” fans that don’t want to pull for the Dodgers?
The team is staying in Orange County.

Yep, spending on MLB team hasn’t been the problem.    Will he going forward spend enough yearly on scouting and development?
That said, he did make progress this off-season, providing money to acquire solid support players.

Can any of you specifically detail what these observable attitude problems are? I rolled my eyes at the shoes or whatever it was but isn’t that adidas problem? Like why would Jo Adell not take these opportunities given to him? Seems kind of fucking stupid to begrudge him that tbh.

and going back to the attitude stuff.  All we heard for years was “make up, make up, make up” “wow! what a work ethic” all that stuff.  Now we’ve got this all of a sudden because he unfollowed the Angels on IG and twitter (truly who gives a shit).  You guys suddenly have this scoop on him being a malcontent or whatever? Just seems like you guys are making shit up.  Sorry.  That’s what it seems like to me.

Adell is a young guy.  The Angels have plainly signaled that he’s not going to be one of their guys in the OF this year.  His back ground is that of a high level prospect.  For several years *the prospect* for the Angels.  His pride is probably hurt or something.  I’m not going to psycho analyze him but to me that seems like a predictable response.  Blarg I think pointed out that he’s doing work at driveline.  That’s good.  He should he doing that.  Hopefully he gets his baseball shit together because it hasn’t been great as well all know.  Particularly at the major league level.  Which is what matters.  He’ll get another shot.  Maybe with the Angels.  Or not.  Whatever happens this speculation about his attitude or whatever based on no doubt the one on ones you guys have had  with him.  <jerk off motion>

TurboFan got a reaction from Angel Oracle in OC Register: Farm Failures: How the Angels’ player development system broke and the plan to repair it
    Very good article.
For any owner intent on building a continuously competitive organization, obviously drafting and developing talent is the foundation and the first priority, or should be. Duh! Smart teams draft and develop individuals who either replenish/raise the performance capabilities of the 40 man roster, or serve as trade chips to acquire fits. It is beyond belief that an owner with such an investment would come up with reasons to not maximize player development. I can’t believe it helps long term cash flow. The system is a goose that lays eggs. Let’s see, do I want gold ones? Settle for silver? How much can I save if we produce wooden eggs? Really? How much do I lose if my team perpetually sucks?

I think Perry is doing a clever thing drafting so many pitchers. Some of these will staff the rotation going forward, some the relief corps, but more than that will be trade chips to acquire whatever position players are needed year by year. Trading for an ace on a long term contract is not only expensive as hell, but extremely risky due to injuries, inconsistent future performance, and other heartbreaks. Perry can trade prospects for proven veterans at any needed position. Many of these prospects never pan out. Young pitching prospects are always in strong demand, more so generally than position players. Every team needs young pitching prospects all the time, but not all need a second baseman, a lefty corner outfielder, or a DH. Rams GM Les Sneed seems to see the benefit of trading draft choices for proven talent. When the draft picks are executed, the other team receives a prospect, who may or may not pan out, but Les is collecting proven talent. In a similar way, Perry can let desirable pitching prospects fuel and fund both his future pitching needs and his talent acquired by trades. Such a plan would not be needed as much if the development system was healthy. But because of current disjunction, I think it could turn out brilliant while the system hopefully gets healed and healthy.

TurboFan reacted to Angelsjunky in Angels acquire Gio Urshela from the Twins for Alejandro Hidalgo (DFA Diaz)
Love this move. This is exactly the type of move(s) I was hoping from Minasian. Hidalgo could end up being decent, but with limited upside. Urshela gives multi-positional depth, a high floor of offensive productive. Replace 550 PA from Wade/Velazquez/Mayfield with Urshela, and last year's offense improves drastically. Plus, he's a solid back-up plan if Rendon gets hurt again or Walsh sucks.
