I would reluctantly agree about the status of the rotation.  As much as I would have preferred a top pitcher acquisition this winter, I think I will like the restraint more than a bad GMJ-esque signing.  There was not much out there worth the cost of a bad contract and lost draft pick.  I have seen worse rotations win a WS.

Yes. The A's roster isn't exactly breathtaking, but they play far above the roster names, and have for 2 seasons now.
I see their success mainly as a result of better managing, coaching, and scouting.
Right players in the right place at the right time...armed with good scouting reports and a plan at the plate.
 
One more SP (which will happen) and this Angels team looks just as good on paper, if not better... yet even most Angel's fans expect the A's to play better and win more games.
Why?

I've got to be honest.  I may not have voiced it, but I was mentally done with Josh.  I viewed him as a 'holier than thou', 'i'm better than you', 'I don't give a shit what you say' kind of guy. 
 
Although it was probably the case all along yet we never got to actually see it, he seems to have taken last year's failures and the response to it very personally.  He didn't have to increase his media exposure and take it on the chin.  He's got his contract and he could have stayed in his big house with his mounds of cash and further distanced himself from the fans. 
 
He didn't, and everything I have seen from him this off season has actually made me like him more now that I did when we first signed him.  He's manned up, and as a fan I appreciate that.  Kudos Josh.

The Angels can't have any minor league players that might be good.  It would violate the order of the baseball universe.
 
Before Mike Trout references appear, he was selected in place of the Yankees.......so the Yankees were celestially aligned for drafting Mike Trout, therefore, universal balance is maintained.

He would not be the first player to be paid by the Angels while facing Angel pitching.

Scioscia would play him......a lot.

I can see why you recommend the Angels stay away from this type of person.  Heaven forbid if anyone on the team exhibited emotions.  We need more page turners and hat tippers, not ranting competitors.

I think managers/coaches who were good players are more likely to get more respect and have young players listen to what they have to say. That doesn't mean that what they are saying is worth anything though. Milton Bradley was a pretty good player. He'd probably tell players to go home and beat their wives on a drunken rampage after an 0-10 slump.
