Yeah, the one benefit of the early draft is near to ready MLB pitchers, while the Angels were trying to steal every position player, it's finally starting to show up in the field but not nearly as much on the mound.  Bauer will not fix this team or put us over the top, it's going to have to be a team effort, no FA signing will do it tbh.
Show Arte that huge FA signings are for desperate losers.  Only sign players who have earned their keep.

We are so irrelevant that the Astros are a better opponent in the postseason, the cheaters....  I honestly dislike the Dodgers just as much, no difference, and I wouldn't put it past the boys in blue to do whatever it takes to win, including cheat.  Just like the Asstros.

This Mayers guy is impressive

I'd like to see Arte NOT sign anybody big this off-season.  Everything positive we've seen has mostly come from within and I think it will continue with this elite coaching.  We might turn out being kind of like the Rays and A's, where we magnify the talent we have and don't need to sign super stars every off-season.  Sure, maybe one reliable arm,  but splurging on an ace-like arm and with our luck it won't work out for the best.  And a 25-30MM pitcher will set us back payroll wise quite a bit for the future.  Arte needs to prove he's not just a man who parts with money but also a frugal investor in his ballclub's future.   And right now we have team chemistry that shouldn't be messed with.  We also have some talented arms in the wing ready to replace Teheran next season, one of them being Ohtani.

If anything it made Adell expendable, although it would NOT be wise to trade him during his lowest value ever.  I personally project Adell to be an Upton type at best, super streaky with too much power for his own good, and will always somewhat struggle against RHP.  Defensively he just doesn't seem to be mentally stable like an OFer should, his speed will make up for lack of ball-tracking ability... A good hitting OFer but nothing to lose sleep over, might be an All-Star a few times over a long career if he stays healthy, might hit 40 bombs once or twice during his peak.  Adell likely won't command the same salary as Upton eventually did, since the league is wising up.

Adell and Marsh along with a few others including a successful Ward Trout etc gives us probably the best outfield depth in baseball.  Upton is a wild card and could very well be better next season. If Rengifo can just be a poor man's Kendrick or what I call 'pedestrian', we are Gucci on infield depth.  I expect big things from Rengifo eventually though.

I think our outfielders have hit better over that span.

Yeah - while this recent run disappoints those who wanted a top overall pick, baseball isn't the NBA or NFL in that none of those top picks are guarantees to be great.
The strong finish we've had has been great in that it's shown we actually have internal solutions for positions in which we thought we had none.  Walsh has shown that he can likely be our 1B moving forward.  Ward looks like he'll be a good stopgap in RF until Adell or Marsh is truly ready, and a solid utility player thereafter.  Bundy has been a great find and looks like a very solid SP3 with SP2 potential.  Canning's last start was very encouraging.  Mayers has been an amazing find, if his arm doesn't fall off from the recent overuse.  Barria, Pena, Andriese, Sandoval (as a reliever), etc..
We've actually seen good production from our young players to wrap up the season, and it's reasonable to think that they can, at least to a reasonable degree, continue their production.  Having continuity from the coaching staff, which they will assuredly have this offseason, should help them more, too.

The Halos season is in theirs and the Rangers hands.

This team needs no new starting position players, in fact we really only need bullpen help and 1 quality SP, that requires not needing to hire Dombrowski.  Arte might be able to save money this offseason for once, think about that for a minute.  Things actually look bright for next season and I'm excited to see them surprise the league.  Maddon seems to be far more effective than he was the first few months, same with Callaway.  This core of players is good and very talented, and I think moving anymore position players around will hurt our chances next season.  A lot of these guys are just now honed in to Maddon's style of play and having to retrain someone in the field will set us back.

I do remember seeing quite a few threads on Gerritt Cole last offseason, lol.

From afar I do agree that you can say that some shit never changes but if you look closer it really could be different this time around. The last few years we have seen ourselves in this situation I don't recall being this hopeful for the next season. For one, if this were not a shortened season, this team would definitely be on its way to a playoff appearance. Also I don't remember any younger players perform as well as they are right now to close out a season. You look at Ward, Walsh, Canning, Sandoval and to an extent Stassi show up the way they did and the outlook for next season is completely different. Even Justin Upton catching fire to end the season makes a huge difference. I would rather the season play out this way than all of our players shitting the bed to close out the season. If our players tank we go into the offseason with limited payroll and so many holes to fill that a top 5 pick won't solve in the short-term. Now, as posted by @Angelsjunky, we potentially have cost-controlled regulars that give us so much flexibility heading into the offseason. If we tanked the season we would have question marks on 1st base, right field, left field, 2nd base, catcher, the rotation and the bullpen heading into next season.
