It’s because he’s prone to have high pitch counts due to him being a strike out pitcher and he walks a fair amount.  So if he goes 4-5 innings, you either have a pitcher hit or run through the bench in pinch hitters. The good news is in games he pitches if he’s hitting you have one extra guy on the bench.

David Fletcher is the best player in MLB history.

Barria isn’t it. Don’t know why people here are so high on him. He just defines mediocrity.

Fletcher makes difficult plays look routine.

That was a hell of a spin throw by Fletcher. How he was able to spin and throw while rotating and drop that ball into Pujols mitt perfectly on target is amazing.

They need someone who can play right field and hit lefties. Not sure if Ward can, he hasn't really had much of a chance, but Lagares can't hit. We'll probably see Walsh in RF against lefties, but that forces Pujols into the lineup. 
I guess it's kind of a self fulfilling prophesy... Pujols taking up a spot on the roster means we can't carry the guy that could keep Pujols out of the lineup.
