I appreciate all you do Jeff, but yesterday you made more tweets about the kneeling than about the game itself. I completely support Middleton's right to kneel, but many of us go to sports to get away from the struggles of society. It's our escapism from the hardships of real life. I know some of it will overlap to some degree, and maybe that's appropriate, but I sure hope that this doesn't become the new norm or our Angels coverage isn't dominated by social commentary. I know I may get criticized for this point of view, but I believe many folks feel the same way.
Find a safe place, snowflake.
Just checked Fletch's twitter feed. Looks like it was 6-4 for tweets about the game and tweets about kneeling. I guess we see what we want to see. Hope you recovered after last night.

Another "coincidence."
Y'all know that Trump is tied to Deutsche Bank, right?

I mentioned the piped-in noise thing to my wife and daughter and almost simultaneously they both asked about piping in fart noises.
I don't think there's anything left in life for me to accomplish.

Obligatory threeve, but I'm guessing 26. Pretty tough to predict a regular season, damn near impossible to predict this one.

Between you and me, if any Angel player goes on the “14 day DL” it will be unusual.

Fuck, I'm still in summer training form. IL.

According to an internal Homeland Security memo, "federal agents facing backlash for their militarized approach to Portland were not specifically trained in riot control or mass demonstrations," The New York Times reports.
That doesn't bode well for the idea that they were sent in with mitigation in mind.

So we’re ignoring the quote from Rendon saying he’s fine?
How often have we seen "He's fine" a few days before we see "he's on the 14-day DL"?
I hope it doesn't happen with Rendon, but don't pretend that is unusual.

"I said," Newsome told the host, "if this country doesn't give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it. All right? And I could be speaking ... figuratively. I could be speaking literally. It's a matter of interpretation.
"Let's observe the history of the 1960s, when black people were rioting," he went on. "We had the highest growth in wealth, in property ownership. Think about the last few weeks since we started protesting. There have been eight cops fired across the country."
"I don't condone nor do I condemn rioting," Newsome added. "But I'm just telling you what I observed."

It's only graffiti, right?
I wonder what happened before those videos started.

Just popping in for a bit, and this is hardly a vengeance. More like a murmur.

This is what Trump supporters are supporting.

Good, we agree voter fraud is a problem
There's a huge difference between voter fraud and election fraud. Voter fraud is a microscopic problem that has no actual impact on elections (unless they're decided by a few votes). Election fraud is what Trump and the republicans are focused on, from Russian intervention to hackable voting machines, to closing polling stations in minority areas to curtailing voting by mail, to voter intimidation and gerryamndering (yes, I know democrats do that too, but they aren't nearly as good at it). Election fraud is a huge problem and it's what Trump and his enablers are banking on to win the election and stay out of jail.
Hope that clears it up for you.

Trump: "I don't care what the military says."
It'll be fun to see the people who blasted Hillary's "What difference does it make?" defend this one.

One of the lefts heroes.
Remember when CNN had him on nonstop? Lol.
Remember how they stopped supporting him when they found out what he was?
And yet here you are, still swinging from Trump's nuts. lol.

Taylor Ward catching is like fetch, it will never happen. I wish for nothing but the best for him, but I just don't see him working out.

Of course. One Tommy John surgery, and our big offseason signing isn't ready for the start of the season.

Instead of facing the Triple A pitchers from the Mariners, A’s, Giants, Padres, etc., he will be facing the Triple A pitchers from the Angels.
So that would really be like facing Double A pitching, right?

So it's ok for Mike Trout to make that decision for his family. What about the rest of the players?

Why have they stopped talking about deaths and only address cases now? Is it because the fatality rate is going down? Case totals were obviously going to go up when testing increased. Not sure if it’s accurate, but I read an article earlier stating that hospitals in Texas were testing everyone coming in for any procedure and if the test came out positive that they cited it as a COVID hospitalization. If accurate, that’s concerning, but I haven’t seen anything else on that so it might not be.
Also, if they’re so concerned about this, why is Newsom closing beaches and businesses while essentially ignoring protests? The inconsistency is problematic.

There's no inconsistency.

OC Register: Angels reliever Keynan Middleton takes a knee during Anthem
in AngelsSpin.com Political Talk
Posted
I completely disagree with you and tchula. I hope they kneel before the anthem and the seventh inning stretch, and after the game. I hope they kneel during pitching changes. I hope they kneel every time the ball boy has to bring the home plate ump more balls, and I hope Fletch tweets about it every time.
