Meyer gets a shot......to prove he isn't an MLB quality pitcher

He has to command his fastball or else it could be over for him. I love his stuff but hate all the walks and 3 ball counts. We don't need another 5 inning pitcher.

Well, that was a frustrating, yet fun game to watch.

This team is pretty fucking scrappy I must say. I like it.

Hamels is signed through 2019 so that sort of ends the conversation about him right there.   As good as he is, I think if I were running the Angels I would have preferred having all the players they traded away to get him..   Jared Eickhoff, Nick Williams, Jorge Alfaro, and Alec Asher.  I think Jake Thompson was part of that deal too.  
Both teams seemed to have walked away from that deal happy with their return.

This team is much worse than the record indicates. Our pitching staff is one of the 2-3 worst in the league. If they were halfway decent the team could be pretty darn good. 

Well, we knew the pitching, ie starting rotation was gonna be the problem... this game underlined that fact

Scioscia suddenly looks a lot thinner to me.

The depth on this team... does it again! Really picking up the lackluster pitching... but Espinosa was clutch with the Nats. What a job on a budget by Eppler. #respect

Worst position for any team to be in right now is having a multi-run lead on the Angels in the 9th inning

That was one of the greatest squeeze bunts I've ever seen.  He did that on a fastball that was pretty low and away.

Had a feeling the Angels would have a great defense this year. Sure there were a few mistakes like the Trout error at Oakland but overall, team has a good defense. Maldonado has been terrific behind the plate. Good influence on the pitching staff.
Hitting should get a good grade as well, Probably an A-. A little streaky but still terrific. Pujols get an F+ though, if going by stats.
 
I'll give pitching a B- since outside of Chavez and Nolasco, everyone else in the starting rotation has been shaky so far. But the bullpen has been a bright spot.

I'd give the pitching a C, the hitting an A-, the defense an A+, and Scioscia an A.

Now that's a fact... Kole's an important Angel!!! I hope he keeps performing like that and...does...NOT ... end up on DL!

Calhoun's underrated. Dude's a gamer. Can hit, play defense, and gives you his all every single game.
