It looks like Shohei Ohtani is going to be posted by the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.
I don't know what anyone here thinks, but I'd like to see the Angels make a run at Ohtani.
If he is anywhere near as good as it seems he'd be a very exciting and valuable player to have in an Angel uniform.

Anyone that lived through Ryan's Angel career knows how many fans he drew to the park. When Ryan first came to the Angels the attendance was horrible on days that he didn't pitch but it was a different story when he did pitch.
Bavasi was an idiot..letting Ryan leave is one of the biggest blunders in ML history.

I honestly don't like being negative, but I think I'd like to nominate this thread for the dumbest of the year.

This whole team probably looks great in "simulated" games... it's the real ones they have a problem with.

I don’t think we could get him without including Adell and Canning.  If we could get DeGrom for a package for one or the other as the headliner, and then others I would probably do that.  

One should never hate, however I had an intense dislike for Josh Hamilton.

It's very common in todays modern game for the starters to only go around 100 pitches. And there is a reason most managers follow this practice these days. Can anyone imagine the outcry if Scioscia ( or any other manager) left a few guys in for over 100 pitches a couple of times and one of them gets hurt? You'd never here the end of it on this board from the vocal Scioscia haters who are actually in the minority here. 
Barria was obviously done for the night but the haters just have to place the blame at Scioscia's feet.

140 innings in the minors is the most Barria has ever worked in a season. He certainly wasn't going to work more than that this season. He wasn't even supposed to pitch in the majors this season. He's like 10th on the depth chart with Pena and new guy McGuire being 11-12 or 13.
So 5.1 innings on 98 pitches is more than enough work for Barria.

He would return because no one else wants him. The angels are the only team dumb enough to employ this guy in a managing capacity.

I think he gets "promoted" to the FO in some capacity.  The ever popular consultant would be my guess.

I haven't given up but I have adjusted my expectations accordingly.

Being an older guy who's endured an awful lot of seasons like this, I've reached a point where I no longer live and die with this team. I enjoy baseball and am thankful I get to watch a generational talent like Trout and see the magic of Simmons on a daily basis. I'm also thankful for the chance to see Pujols though I wish he still had some of his brilliance more often. 
Theyre clearly not going anywhere this year but I'll continue to watch because they're my team.

NO! A true fan never gives up. I have supported this team since December 1960, the day it was announced that Gene Autry had purchased the AL franchise of the Angels. I have followed them thru some really frustrating and dismal years. And several of those years were much worse than the present one. When the year ends I'll still be watching. Sure, I want them to win and be World Champions again, just as much as everyone else on AW wants to happen. Sadly, I just don't think it's going to happen this year, but I'll still be watching and rooting for this team right down to the last game of the season.
