TroutField reacted to stormngt in I know it's only April, but...
God Damnit!!!!!
Fir several years we get ona streak. Lead our division and then we start hearing. "This team is different" "this team is special". Then we go on and get crushed with injuries.
Don't jinx us!!!
In case people do not know, that is sarcasm.

TroutField reacted to Duren, Duren in Gameday Thread (4/3/24 10am Pacific): Angels @ Marlins: Sandoval on the mound, Rengifo leading off, Adell in CF
A rare game where the hitting and pitching were both great.
On the other hand, Miami is the first team in history to start 0 - 7 after making the playoffs the previous season.

With the day off tomorrow, they should have all of the bullpen available for Friday, except possibly Zuniga. Love it and the offense came alive. Wish we could play the Marlins more often.

I miss Vladdy so much. Can you imagine had he and Trout been playing together during that stretch instead of Erstad in center.

I miss that guy... He was so fun to watch...
Probably the most-fun-to-watch-player ever for me...

I get it, but if you have an opportunity to bring in your best hitter off the bench to win a ball game late, you have to put Schanuel in there and records be damned.

TroutField reacted to Stradling in Game 6 Grades
It’s almost like fans overreacted after the first couple of games. Weird.

The game 127 grade thread is going to be awesome

TroutField got a reaction from rafibomb in Gameday Thread (4/2/24): Angels @ Marlins: Anderson on the mound
Problem is there are no better options ..
Angels are 30th out of 30 teams in batting average and OBP. Some clutch hitting and luck has driven the 3 wins. I’ll take it

TroutField reacted to Ochocinco! in Gameday Thread (4/2/24): Angels @ Marlins: Anderson on the mound
Idk if we are good team yet or not but I know for a fact the Marlins SUCK! If we want to be a good team we have to beat up on bad teams, let’s get this sweep tomorrow! We have a rough schedule the rest of the month so get every win we can

I like that he carried his great spring over into his first start of the season.
His changeup looked a lot like it did in 2022 with the Dodgers. He's throwing strikes too.
The Barry Enright factor?
Let's just hope he can get into Patrick Sandoval's thick skull. Hoping for a good start tomorrow.

Who had Anderson having the best start the first time through the rotation? Great start for him, hopefully he can build upon it and have a successful season.

TroutField reacted to jsnpritchett in Gameday Thread (4/2/24): Angels @ Marlins: Anderson on the mound
I've said this before, as have others, but the Garcia signing, even at a little over $4M, was the strangest move the Angels made in the off-season. There was simply no reason to sign him. Any number of sub-$1M guys (including some in the Angels' own system) could give you similar or better production.

Seriously though, how and why did Hicks get gifted the best spot in the lineup.

More like Ken Gaysenthal, imo.

TroutField got a reaction from daygloman in Gameday Thread (4/1/24 3:40pm Bally Sports SoCal): Angels @ Marlins: Silseth on the mound, Moniak, Thaiss starting
Props to the boys for pulling it out. When we were down 4-1 I thought there was no hope for a comeback.
nice pitching and some nice clutch hitting to claw back.

TroutField reacted to Dtwncbad in Neto
David Fletcher? That’s a really bad comparison. Fletcher was a blue collar worker who would just grind to overcome the fact that he really didn’t have the high end baseball skills. Kind of a “getter dun” somehow guy.
Thats pretty much the exact opposite of Neto, who has all the actual skills.

TroutField got a reaction from Angel Oracle in OC Register: Ron Washington expects Angels to learn to win, just like the Orioles have
Agree with this. He knows he doesn’t have to win now per se, seems like he’s grafting up for the next 2-3 years.
even when he compliments a guy he always seems to follow it up with 2-3 things a guy still needs to work on. He’s a good coach.

TroutField reacted to Inside Pitch in OC Register: Angels’ Anthony Rendon ‘loves’ the opportunity to hit leadoff
Looking forward to actually seeing him "hit" leadoff.
