The "Big Man" was also well prepared and a pro at talk radio. He was the best at scooping the local media on Lakers, Angels and Dog news. He will be missed. RIP
I still am upset about the Carney Lansford trade to Boston. It was easy to see that he was going to be special. At the time the Angels always traded away the young playrrs for vets. This trade was awful. Burleson was really good for the Sox but not so much for the Halos. Carney Lansford would have been the best 3rd baseman in club history and might have won batting titles for the Angels. He also played excellent defense.
I have seen all the great ones at bat in my 55 years of watching baseball. No one was more fun to watch than Vlad. Also, when he would unload a throw from right field only Roberto Clemente could match his arm.
A failed drug test would be the best thing for the Angels. Arte can dump him and get sympsthy from fans and sportswriters. Guy should be jn jail for stealing money.
One of the all- time greats that never tasted the post season. To me, he played in the Golden rra of baseball with Mays, Aaron, Mantle, Koufax, Gibson and so many more.
RIP MR CUB
Boras is not finding any teams to go against Detroit. He needs the Yanks, Red Sox or Dodgers ( or God forbid Arte) to inflate Sherzer's worth. I think he resigns witth the Tigers but not for more than 7/175.
Another good move by DP. Absolutely needed a left hand bat. I didn't see Cron as an every day DH. Jepsen was very good last season but he hasn't been consistent in his career. He can be replaced by Morin and Pestano.
I think DP might be done now until the spring. The only moves I could see are if some sucker wants to take Josh and absorb a chunk of his salary. Same for CJ.
Howie plsys the game like it should be played--with a smile on his face. Sosh never had to eorty about who would play second for nine years. Baseball is a business and the Angels had a great employee in #47.
I would still like to see a veteran Lefty for the bench. Someone who can play The corner outfield.
Does anybody think they carry Rutledge, Green and Featherston on the 25 man roster?
I would still like to see a left handed bat that can DH and play first and the OF for the bench. I like this team right now but ee need a lefty on the bench.
The Trumbo trade was great but wouldn't have happened if the Dbacks hadn't moved Eaton to the Sox for Santiago. JD has been excellent. He has remade the 25 man with some kry codt controlled players. He has situated the Angels to compete for the next several years. Cudos to Jerry.
If Arte won't go over the tax threshold then it is almost impossible to include money with CJ unless it is applied to 2016 only. They would still need to sign a FA pitcher that would cost at least 4-10 million.
Next Heyman eill tell us that Hamilton is in the market but yhe Angels are nit inclined to kick in any money.
All these writers at the winter meetings hsve to come up with something. The CJ report took no imagination.
