  1. Hamilton shows no enthusiasm for the game. I personally think he is done. Just another Vernon Wells. His 30 mil for next season is a huge load to bare for the front office. Even though Albert has dramatically declined he is still way above the average First basemen. The rest of he lineup is questionable but probably locked in for next season.
  2. The dude plays with no passion. He never gets upset when he strikes out or hits his usual ground ball to second or pop up on the infield. Maybe it is the antidepressants he takes, but he needs a fire lite under his ass.
  3. I am much more worried about Hamilton. He looks like he just doesn't care. He shows no emotion. He must be on an antidepressant. Aybar has not produced the second half and also Calhoun. This is a total team effort (or lack thereof). Still it is Trout who ignites the offense. As he goes so go the Halos.
  4. Why does everyone think that the 7 games against the blood sox will be easy? That team has some dangerous bats. Their pitching isn't great but if the Angel's offense (that means Hamilton, Calhoun, Howie and Aybar) don't start to swing it no game will be easy.
  5. Way too much pressure on the starters with the offense in the dumpster right now. With CJ starting it will take 6+ runs to win any of his starts. The Dodgers have exceptional starting pitching but the offense has just laid down in this series.
  6. If Santiago stays then Thatcher will be DFA'd. Rasmussen has been very valuable as a long man. Shuck has made one appearance since his recall. He goes down for an extra pitcher. A lot depends on Skaggs right n now.
  7. It will still come down to the starting pitching. Weaver and Wilson must pitch to their career numbers because the rest of the rotation is not used to pitching 170+ innings. The pen has been a revelation. Hopefully, Trout doesn't extend his slump like the one in May. He is still the key to the whole team.
  8. Very tough pitching ahead in the next 8 games. This is going to be a very bumpy ride. The jet is obviously Trout. Hopefully this slump doesn't last as long as the last one.
  9. Good lineup. I would platoon Navarro and Green in the 2 spot. Regardless where Hamilton hits he and Albert get a ton of at bats with RISP. They both need to produce for this team to overtake the A's.
  10. Losing the only shortstop prospect and the best arm in the system for a relief pitcher is too high a price to pay. You only make that kind of deal for a all star caliber player or a top starter with club control for at least 2-3 years. This trade will come back to bite Dopoto in the ass.
  11. A big shout out to Don Baylor and Jerry Dipoto. The offense since Baylor came back has been spectacular. JD has done a terrific job of adjusting the roster. The contributions from the players called up have been clutch. To be 20 games over .500 having used 28 pitchers is amazing. 70 games to go. Win 37-40 of the seventy and the Angels should be in great shape for the post season.
  12. Trout- 2-4 dbl, BB 1K Skaggs 6 innings 7H 3BB 5 K 4ER Calhoun 1-3 2R 2 BB
  13. Wait until he pitches against you Farrell. This is one of the all time snubs. That said, I am not upset that GR will get some rest over the break and be ready to start the first game.
  14. I would guess Pujols leads the league. He was a very good base runner at one time, I think he forgets he is almost 40 years old.
  15. At this point I would rather have Richards ready to start the first game after the break. That is much more important the ASG.
  16. Hopefully the pitchers keep throwing those pitches below the knees. He may be the best low ball hitter ever.
  17. They have to decide if Santiago is going to be a starter or a reliever. I think Santiago should be in the pen. Skaggs' next chance for the rotation would be on Thursday. I would wait until after the All Star break.
  18. Walks have been a problem since the Butcher era started. This is an organizational problem as well. We have beaten the Butcher problem to death. It is long past time for a change.
  19. Why is it obvious to everyone but Sciocsia that Bedrosian is not ready for the ML? It's time for Dipoto to step up and make some moves. Make Morin the closer and try to move Frieri for anything he can get. Bring up Alverez as soon as he is healthy. Please get a lefty for the pen, but until put Santiago out there. Oh and please dump Ibanez already and get Cron in the lineup every day.
  20. Start by sending Bedrosian down. Getting lit up at this level will not help his confidence. He needs to go down and work on his command. Frieri is a mess. Without a breaking ball he is too hittable. At this point I would try Jepsen as the closer. He has pitched better than Smith and Frieri. Move Morin to the eighth inning. Put Santiago in the pen as a swing man. When Alvarez is healthy bring him up and try him out. In the meantime don't let Frieri any where near a lead in the ninth or later. Maybe DLR can get some guys out.
  21. I do get awfully tire of the platoon situation with Ibanez and Cron. How do not have more confidence in Cron than the "alta koker"? Give the kid a chance to play everyday. He will be way more productive than Ibanez.
  22. Sciocsia is glass half full of s#%t kinda guy. Ibanez is done, release him back into the wild. Who cares about lefty vs right. Green is a much better hitter and way more valuable than constantly watching Ibanez trying to catch up to a fastball. Put him and us out of our misery already.
