  1. oh you could see oakland finishing ahead of the mariners, nostradamus?, he said jokingly.
  2. so many times i've wondered why runners don't take advantage of lackadaisical play by the outfielders. to see what aybar did yesterday filled my heart with satisfaction.
  3. to be fair, saying he has struggled to put together even a decent pen during his tenure, up to this point, would be kind. what's so funny is that he's successfully done it now in about 2 months.
  4. you guys are like little brothers.
  5. it's bro. if you're going to clown him, then do it properly. <-----a joke.
  6. i like the signing, and it's realistic for what the angels can acquire.
  7. it'd be better if he just got sent down to AAA for the rest of the season. mercy killing.
  8. he really hasn't been good, but it's the giants so he's going to finish the year on a scoreless streak. reunited with bruce bochy and tim flannery.
  9. in all seriousness and with maximum veracity, suck my dick barry bonds and all your nut swingers. hopefully, that wording isn't too strong for this forum. i know it's a close call, but it's barry bonds.
  10. do you guys remember when there was a big push for bob costas to be the next commish?
  11. i want it to happen just because this place would burn.
  12. this is mostly true. i live in san diego, and could never get with the padres. they're just constantly mediocre. they don't believe in building or rebuilding. the goal has always been, just enough to get the fans to come in. the disinterest in the padres in san diego is palpable, which is sad because when the ballpark was built there was a lot of excitement around san diego that the padres were finally going to be sustainable. now, they just feel like they were swindled. probably because they were. there are many problems in san diego, but none of them are the fanbase. this city is dying for a championship in baseball or football.
  13. i'm not saying solarte is all that, but when he got sent down to AAA he immediately started killing it and i think was called back up to new york. i'd bet he does alright in san diego, considering the ballpark.
  14. there's no way i'm going to beat up shoemaker over giving up two homeruns to one of the best young players in the game, especially when he dominated the rest of the lineup. it's just one of those things. honestly, shoemaker has been a godsend to this rotation and is a BIG reason why the angels have rattled off so many victories for the last couple months. he has bridged the gap from the top half to the bottom half of the rotation, helping to keep winning streaks alive and doing his part to stop losing streaks or consecutive losses from happening.
  15. part of this isn't true. the reason why san diego is a small market is because of location. we have the ocean to the west, mexico to the south and the desert to the east of us. the only place for san diego to expand is north and that's not happening with the dodgers and angels presence. it would take a super massive population explosion, that honestly san diego would not be prepared to handle for the current media market rankings to change. it's just simply not going to happen.
  16. this thread is finally starting to get it. i want to see some offensive unwritten rules, dammit! only fastballs coward!
  17. insurance policy against injury mainly and possibly a little insider knowledge regarding seattle's staff.
  18. when i read the thread title, my first reaction was "i can't think of too many that didn't come with the game on the line." that's a fairly incredible statistic.
  19. imo, the angels are not looking at cliff lee.
