  1. i would have fired both of them at the same time i was doing the front office cleanup, if i were dipoto. i suspect that they were protected by scioscia at the time.
  2. well it's good to know that all the racist idiots aren't just in arizona and texas, they're alive and well in the OC. flame me all you want, i couldn't care less, but many of your attitudes towards "illegals" are childish. you might want to look at your own history and i don't even know what your skin looks like...and it still applies. they took 'er jobs!!!
  3. nope, can't think of a single one. other than cal, there's never been a ss who could hit and field. you'd think there would have been like at least like 3 or something?
  4. my faith in scioscia has waned so much, i honestly have a really hard time trusting him, or even knowing what it is he's supposed to excel at. these feelings are miles apart from where i once was with thoughts of him. the irony of it all is that it comes up in the catching department so often. mathis/hester, i just don't get it.
  5. so victor, i know you weren't going for this, but if you throw these bad boys in the local head shops and advertise in high times magazine, then this charity will never need another fundraiser ever again. straight cash homie. edit: i've got an angel contact in the kansas city market we could tap into.
  6. i'm sorry mac, but that's ridiculous on both ends. you're offering the perceived #2 for the perceived #1 and throwing in an end of the first round (10-12) pick in kershaw. that's bad thinking, but even worse thinking is the fool that didn't jump all over that before you came to your senses.
  7. so tony reagins is in your league? dumb trade for the other guy.
  8. magic=lakers=dodgers. could there be any other result? come on.
  9. by the way rose didn't end fosse's career. he came back that year and hit 297. he also went on to play 11 more years. many like to say that fosse was never the same after that separated shoulder, but they also fail to remember that 1970 was fosse's rookie year. so, it's not like they had any idea what he was likely to be anyway.
  10. that's a little questionable comment to me from greinke. get your money, i'm fine with that. however, if your number one consideration isn't winning, then i don't think i'd like to be your teammate. people have a way of excusing a choice that they feel "guilty" about by making the decision between two choices almost ridiculous. greinke said, " if i had to choose between 200 million or 10 million, then i'm going to take the 200 million." that's an example of deflecting the responsibility of the decision. of course he'd take the 200. there is no true decision to be made in that scenario. however, the real decision was more likely like this (he signed for like 148 i think?), do i choose the 148 million or the 135 million? at that point, wouldn't you prefer winning be a big part of his considerations? although, maybe he did. the dodgers are ascending and the rangers may be descending.
  11. priceless. what if the angels tanked this year, and arte fired dipoto at the end of the year and kept scioscia? this place would become disneyland, which would carry a small degree of irony.
  12. it's not hard to double up on a fast runner when they're the lead runner. the vast majority of dp opportunities will be successful regardless of how fast the lead runner is. it's when the batter is the runner with elite speed that the double plays become much more difficult.
  13. i'm down tayler. start a yahoo league and i'll join, just for convenience of my other leagues. i'm sure others will too, and we can still get in on the official aw leagues as well. let's do this, i'm jonesing man!
  14. pudge is playing? bawhaaat? edit: thread killer. hired to front office position. http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story/_/id/8971293
