  1. the funny thing about that gif is that it reminds me of how it feels to swing at a great curveball. it's really the only pitch i ever felt like i was missing in real time. you can actually see the batter's expression change to frustration while he's still in his swing. curveballs are a slow death, so you get to savor every friggin' moment of it.
  2. i'm not trying to turn this into anything, but i find it hard to get behind a guy that's compelled to take a shot at a guest of the clubhouse for being gay, namely billy beane (the player). also, all puns intended. he's a decent player, but that kind of stuff annoys me.
  3. no.no.no. we can't start talking about catcher in the same vein as 2b, as if it's a place to stow away a poor defensive player. catcher is the most demanding position on the field. the bat is literally the last attribute a team is looking for from that position. cron brings nothing to the table as a C, other than an emergency backup availability.
  4. he looks like flea ****ed the joker. or maybe flea would be the one to carry him to term. that seems more likely.
  5. ...looks like i picked a bad time to give up swimming. or a good time? i don't care, i just love kirk douglas.
  6. i really don't care what any revenue driven, click bait, subscription based talking head has to say in regards to who is a good person and who isn't. i know which side of the assembly i sit on and that's all that matters to me. i've been disliked before. i've even stood on the "wrong" side of a few fights before, due to obligation. as josh so blithely stated in his eloquence, it is what it is.
  7. this is exactly what the gist of his comments today were.
  8. this is a really good idea, but the angels would get crucified in the press over it. doesn't mean they shouldn't do it.
  9. for those wondering the term "for a ptbnl or cash considerations" is a universal term . as has been described, the important part of this term is cash considerations. assuming that the deal has been reported correctly.
  10. i'm confused. very little of this makes sense to me. if he wants out because of temptation or what not, how is it that the angels are paying his entire contract minus some piddly sum? the answers are never going to be sufficient for me to understand. it's just the insanity of mlb contracts and the mlbpa.
  11. except it's not true. they all like him. the fan relationship vs. the player relationship is totally different.
  12. i don't know how anyone could listen to that and think they wasted their time. dopamine deniars? i think i just coined that term.
  13. honestly, what are they supposed to do? joyce has an established track record and like the article says, it's been ballpark of 60 at bats. it's unreasonable to want or to expect them to cut bait on joyce.
  14. back on topic. i like this trade less and less. i don't think the rangers picking up 7 million over 3 years is nearly enough. at this point, i think i just say screw you josh report to the bench. the angels are under no obligation to have him be a starter. what's really sat wrong with me is his attitude more so than his relapse. the dude needs a reality check on the pine.
  15. definitely a road not taken.
  16. brandon, you're going full retard here. he's trying to tell you that you can't take 3 years of salary and call it 24% of one year's payroll. it makes absolutely no sense and contributes nothing. you're blowing up on a dude who's being polite to you. take a pill and relax, dude.
  17. there's an underlying current of anger in this thread. i think that's compelling.
  18. all of you guys that keep saying the angels are foolish for not sending him to arizona and voiding his contract when he refuses are bashing the angels for something that was only mentioned on twitter and are greatly overestimating how "easy" it is to void an mlb contract. do you realize he could go to prison and it still wouldn't violate his contract?
