Cozart was signed to a 3 year deal not 2.

A deal landing both Smith and Watson would be ideal.

Now that the Angels were runners-up in the Zach Britton sweepstakes, they might be ready to deal. Whether the two teams can find a match or not, they’ve already done plenty of legwork on each other’s systems.

The Angels could begin framing their side of a trade by including third baseman Zack Cozart, who was a disappointment in the first season of his three-year, $38 million contract and underwent season-ending shoulder surgery. The other big thing is both these starters are young. Much better than signing 30 plus year old pitchers.

There's a difference between having a a good career and living up to the hype - especially the hype of the magnitude he was getting as a prospect. I'm not going to try and explain the difference to you.  It's just not worth the time and effort.

Scioscia  - Yes.  Pujols - Doubtful.  Trout - definitely and Vlady too.  Simmons - We'll see.  Erstad - Doubt it (Angels HOF - possibly). Ohtani - We'll see.
You have to include #16 for Garrett Anderson, IMO.  I love Weaver - but I can't see them retiring his number.  Angels HOF - definitely.

Shit happens. If you are going for just winning a wild card I don't think any team should be opening the season just hoping for a wild card spot. I think that's foolish. You are either good enough to win the division or you just aren't there yet. Injuries happen plenty, teams are either better than or worse than they expected once the season starts. But I don't think you can go into a season hoping for a wild card. There are too many variables that way. But if you think you have a team to compete for the division title and fall short then that's different than not having the horses to compete for that title.

I would agree to that if I was GM or if I was Ramos (assuming he can play that long).

Cron was better than Pujols for 2 years when he was traded. Pujols was kept. Doesn't matter how good Thaiss is he probably won't be as good as Cron or Ohtani and Ohtani will sit for Pujols while he plays DH.
 
I completely agree. But you know Pujols will play DH over Ohtani on this team. Whether it's 1 game or 25 there is no way I see this Angels team letting Pujols only play 1st base. 

I don't want to be the team that gives him a guaranteed 2nd year.
