  1. A few days ago, all sides agreed to waive the clause in his contract. He is free to negotiate with the Mets during the entirety of the offseason. Originally, the Mets only had the five-day window to negotiate.
  2. definitely need to upgrade. It's so damn hard to get quality and something desinged for the future. Damn bureaucracy.
  3. Why do they call it "Ovaltine?" The container's round.
  4. True. The WiFi at my school site is for shit. When connected, my phone is constantly searching for the signal, thus eating up battery life. I elected to forget that wifi and go with 4G. Battery life improved immediately.
  5. Mine too. Most have taken our computer skillz elective class with our super awesome computer skillz teacher.
  6. I think I've turned the page on "turning the page." It's just beating a dead Lackey now.
  7. Good answers. Thanks for the input. I find that it's difficult to find a financial advisor that I can trust. I'm ALWAYS suspicious that I'll be swindled.
  8. I've heard he wants to change the fabric on the uniforms to cotton. Keeps the players cool or something.
  9. I believe he's worth the qualifying offer. It's a high dollar, yes. However, I'm not sure Coward or Kubitza are ready. Freese provides an insurance policy. If he declines, we'd get a draft pick, so there's no real downside.
  10. The Angels just need to win their next game. OGAAT
  11. I'm kinda, "Meh, whatever." The season is so long, so logically there will be peaks and valleys. If they win, great! The team I follow is successful. If they suck, well. I have no control so I let it go pretty easily. I used to be a Superfan, but realized that kind of emotional investment was detrimental to my relationships with my family/friends. I would really internalize each pitch, out, run, win and loss. It must have sucked to be around me after a loss or a bad season. I dunno. I'd have to ask my ex-wife. One consistent throughout the years has been the overwhelming negativity on this board to daily trials and tribulations of the team. Can't say that I love it, but I do sorta understand. I gotta say though, it's like a damn soap opera around here. Conspiracies, back-room deals, megalomaniacs, Sociopaths, wunderkinds, backstabbing. Weird.
  12. If the Angels stick to a "Dipoto Plan" I don't see them going after a guy like Heyward simply because of the loss of a draft pick. Rather, I see them looking at Cespedes and/or Price. Guys that were traded midseason won't have a pick attached to them. Admittedly, there will be more competition for those guys and the Angels could get blown out of the water by teams like the Dodgers, Yanks, and Red Sox. I'm not sure about the direction of this team, but the article was well-written, balanced and thoughtful. Well Done... (A-...or a 4 on a Four Point Rubric)
  13. Agree. This is what a forward thinking, intelligent front office does: Maximize it's strengths. I'm envious of the Dodgers' front office.
  14. I'd want the Angels to get a left fielder and keep Joyce. It's sunk cost and it's possible he could be depth on the bench. Or they can release him. Don't really care either way.
  15. I agree that's an insane amount of dollars. However, given WAR values per year, those dollars are rising at a very high rate. Trout and other economic factors will pull the whole pay scale higher. There will be a day when some player gets to 50-75 million/year and the Calhouns of the baseball world will make 20 million easy. Our society is truly effed up.
  16. He's that good, huh? Geez. What's his NEXT cotract going to look like? The numbers are staggering. He might break the whole system of dollars to WAR.
  17. Hmmm...I'm always giving my daughter shit about how often she listens to and follows all the drama created by Zayne leaving One Direction. This thread feels like that.
  18. I'd say they'd push for at least one rehab outing. It will give the team another turn through the rotation and more time to make decisions leading up to the trade deadline. Weaver WILL be in the starting rotation. It's not Scioscia's style to abandon his vets. I feel that any other line of thinking is just wishful.
