  1. Citi Field> Yankee Stadium IMHO. The subway drops you off right there, so if you can read a subway map, you can’t beat it. Food is good, and lots of good beer from smaller local breweries. The neighborhood around there stinks. Not dangerous or anything, just not much there.

Lots of good advice given above. Where are you staying and what else do you have planned?

  2. Would signing both of these guys have made Arte a little gun-shy about spending too much money, and perhaps keep him from opening up the vault for Trout's extension? It may not have been an either/or situation, but that's a shitload of money to spend in one offseason on three guys.

Of course I would like to have both guys in the rotation short term, but I think in the long run it will prove to be smart to have not committed long term to those guys.

  3. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile  The Netflix movie about Ted Bundy

Better than I expected. Zach Efron did a good job pulling off the charming part of Bundy's personality. The movie really concentrated on his relationship with girlfriend Liz, and his prosecution. Not much was shown of him committing his crimes, but rather showed the charismatic personality that made this sociopath so convincing. His intelligence allowed him to defend himself in court better than any attorney. I liked the banter he had with the Florida judge, played by John Malkovich.

Prior to the final episode, I'd put a lot of thought into how things could end for Danny.  None were positive after what she did to Kings Landing.  The obvious were have Jon or, even better, Arya kill her.  I though Arya taking the face of Greyworm to get close to her and then off her would've been cool but somewhat expected.

When was the last time she took another face? There is speculation that she did it to get close enough to the Night King to kill him, but that is just speculation.

The last one I remember was her taking the face of Walder Frey and killing the Wedding party conspirators.

That is another storyline that a lot of time went into, and little came out of it.

The trio has given up 31 home runs so far and we’re still in the month of May. Let that settle in for a second.

These clowns have given up a total of 85 runs.

Harvey: 7.50 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 11 HR allowed

Cahill: 6.43 ERA, has given up 14 HR which is tied for 2nd in MLB

Allen: 5.51 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and 6 HR allowed

Bonus: Chris Stratton who Eppler traded for just prior to the start of the regular season had a 8.59 ERA & 2.08 WHIP before being released.

Solid major league scouting by Eppler and his scouts.

Maybe someone with better editing skills can photoshop some new heads on this.

Cozart will be seeing extended time at shortstop

    book that

Great news! MLB Trade Rumors says we are in good shape with Cozart:

Fortunately, the club does seem to have the ability to shift some pieces around to cover for any absences. Zack Cozart is probably the most gifted shortstop in the world that doesn’t play that position for a MLB team, so he can slide over there with David Fletcher and Tommy La Stella sharing second and third base.

This game will break your heart sometimes... it will frustrate you and make you miserable too.  It can make you angry.

As fans we have no control over what happens on the field.  We can only watch and react.  And since we have no control - it makes it all that more difficult.

Nights like last night take all the joy out of being a fan and yet - we'll be back for more tonight or soon thereafter and every other night.

My hope is that this team rallies around one another and decides to fight like hell to win more games.  I just don't have all that much confidence in that happening under Ausmus' leadership - although I have no way to qualify that in any way.  I don't know that there is a guy in the clubhouse that's capable of doing that either.  There's no Torii Hunter or Jered Weaver or Troy Percival or Bengie Molina.  Maybe Pujols is that kind of a leader, but I really don't know.  All I know is that injuries suck and they suck the life out of being a fan.

We all just want to see what this team can do with a fully healthy roster.  We wonder if that's ever going to happen.

I realize that money cannot buy you championships, but, as the Yankees are proving, it can buy you added depth, which will keep you in contention until you get your stars back from the DL.

I'm down in Miami and am stuck working mid-week, but hopefully those games up there will have more people than the Marlins/Rays game I went to last night...

The announced attendance was under 6K and a good 5K of that were no shows.   Was able to get dugout club level row BB, just past 3B adjacent to the dugouts for $46.00 a pop.   None of the seats in the one row in front of me were used, nor the ones behind or to the right of me.   I think there were maybe all of 10 people in a section that holds about 100 or so people at just above ground level.  The section behind mine --  basically Field level seats and the seats directly behind the dugouts were going for as little as $15.00

It really is the saddest thing I've ever seen.

My friend was at one of those games and said the same thing. A lot of talk about moving one, or both of those franchises, but is there a city that wants them? Are there any "better fits"?

I think baseball has little room for growth in this country, and the next step might be going international.
