The biggest surprise for me was Matthew Rhys who played the lead character (Phillip Jennings) in the Americans. I had no idea he was from Wales, and had a heavy accent. I was watching an interview with him and Keri Russel, and was shocked when he started speaking. I thought he was joking.

Didn't they steal them from the Cardinals?

My guess is Ausmus would take those guys as well.
I think I'd take those guys right now over most of what we have....JR Richards included.

I am about half way through, and so far I wish they stopped at season 6. The political agenda of the writers is just too overwhelming.
Piper needs to go away. Her storyline is just too tired.
I'll finish it because I have already invested 6 1/2 seasons into it, but I am disappointed so far.
Orange is the New Black
I take it back. I enjoyed the end of the series. Things got much better after they got off their political soapbox. Great job bringing back old characters and wrapping things up.

How does Houston avoid TJS’s?
Seems like they’ve only had msybe a couple in 5 years?

I can remember the Mets fans complaining on WFAN right before the start of the 2014 season, after Matt Harvey just had TJ surgery, saying their team is cursed. Jon Heyman was on that day and said that the Angels and one other team were tied for league least in TJ surgeries. Man have things changed.

Just finished season 7 of Orange is the New Black. Final season.
If you are familiar with the characters then you will enjoy this. Some corny and overplayed parts like usual.
2 show into the Bodyguard. British TV show on Netflix. Lot's of potential, but plot is getting weak.

Simmons is everything Jeter was hyped to be, without the rings or gift baskets.

Also - the DH does not need to come to the NL.
Rosters will expand to 26 next year, a roster spot which I'm unofficially calling the 'club elder' spot, that enables teams like the Angels (Pujols), Mets (Cano), and Tigers (Cabrera) to keep overpaid unproductive vets around as part-time players and unofficial coaches/clubhouse leaders.True, but they still have to find a spot for him in the lineup. His defense is on the downslope and will only get worse.

Simmons is a Smart ballplayer. He knows where he should be on the field when he isn't directly involved in the play. He is always looking to back pick runners making wide turns. His value isn't just his range, glove, arm and bat.
This is exactly what the Mets need. Unless the DH comes to the NL soon, the Mets are stuck with Cano at 2B for a while, so someone like Simba at SS would lessen their pain.

I know they said it wasnt the plan but i think i would rather try to get the Mets to flip Stroman than overpay for Thor. The market price is set.. 4 & 6ish. We might have to add more due to ours not being as high top 100 wise of course but still.
Might happen. WFAN reporting from multiple sources that Stroman was not happy to be going to the Mets.

You’re right. But he isn’t terrible, nor about to hit his 30s. Also $15m cheaper, and that’s not counting whatever value is brought back in a trade.
No one doubts that Simmons’ defense is generational, but it also comes with a shelf-life and many millions more dollars.
Totally agree. The biggest part is the $15 million savings that can be used towards Cole.

On MLB Network right now, Morosi stated the Angels are interested in Matthew Boyd. He says he perfectly fits the mold of the type of starting pitcher we are looking to acquire. Hoping something comes of this.
Is he already on the IL ?

We could part with Simmons for a starter like Syndergaard. We have more than enough infield pieces. I'm thinking Fletcher could do a good job at SS.
I was thinking about this one yesterday, although I think the Angels need to add a little. How about Marsh since he is blocked, and the Mets two biggest needs are SS and CF?

A few years back, when Dusty Baker was managing the Giants, talked with him and his family at a Scooby Doo Live concert in Phoenix.
And you would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling AW posters.

Let's hope Adell doesn't turn into Odell.

Realistically what would Syndergaard cost? Would it have to cost Adell? Or Marsh and everyone else?
Mets need a Center Fielder, bullpen help, and a starting pitcher. Also, I am sure they would love to find a sucker to dump Cano's contract on.
Also, Thaiss won't have a spot on the Mets. Alonzo and Dom Smith are clogging up 1B, and McNeil will take over for Frazier at 3B

London/Paris

Looking for advice from anyone who has ever been there. Both cities seem very spread out, so I don't know which section to start looking in for hotels/Air BnB.
Which of the touristy things are worth it? I hate lines.
We are going to spend 4 days in each place.
Flying to London, train to Paris, Fly home from Paris.
Going with wife and 2 daughters.
