And health could subtract 5-7 wins. See what I'm saying?

Adding it in my head came out to around 4. I'm glad you did the math. Ok, so Urshela alone makes us  a 77 win team.
I don't subscribe to the improvement theory of current players, because I believe on a yearly basis, some will get worse, some will improve on a team such as this. It's not a team full of 24 year olds.
Anderson.... Pitching is hard to gauge with WAR but I think 2-3 wins should be a fair estimate. If we say he's replacing Syndergaard and his subsequent replacements after the deadline around with 1.5 wins. So they improve by one win with Anderson.
So a 78 win team. We're going to need to unearth 10 wins somewhere.

Nimmo would anchor the lineup and fill the biggest position of need. He could really change the complexion of the team. And if you get him, I think it lessens the need to get a good shortstop.

I also think this team needs to add another starting pitcher - preferably a guy with ability to dominate a game (as opposed to another innings eater).

I hope minasian doesn't think there is a lack of depth in the OF.  They are lacking a starter.
Rendon is gonna miss some games.  Maybe quite a few.
Walsh is a bit of a crapshoot.
LF as is would be bottom 5 in the league and if they think Walsh offsets that they're crazy
If you go to a 5 man rotation you're setting up Ohtani to tire out
The MIF is tolerable at best.
And you could probably use a better backup C still even though I think they roll with Thaiss or some waiver pickup.
Adding Urshela was a decent/solid first step in overcoming one of several problems with last year's lineup.   In other words, you only take away a big chunk of those scrub player at bats with Urshela if you fix other parts of the lineup as well.   If you don't, you're still setting yourself up to have to use guys like Sierra and Lagares and a whole slew of other 20-100 plate appearance sub replacement players.
You've got about 5 things where it's about 50/50 that it could go wrong right now.  Urshela covers 1 of those.  Maybe 1 and a half.  And you can assume they're not going to even address a couple of them.

I'm going to file the "he's buddies with Correa" thing under the file of "stassi and Cole like each other". But Correa would actually be a pretty decent move.
He could solve SS, and eventually replace Rendon at 3B with Rendon to 1B down the road.
I really would hate to see the team blow their wad money wise on someone and not be able to afford Shohei. Then again, I'd hate to see us miss out on bringing in good players to save money for Shohei, then to see him walk away anyway.
I'm not saying Correa is the guy to get. But I think a better team around Ohtani is the best bet to convincing him to stay.
We just have to clarify to Ohtani that it's "Correa", not "Korea", so there won't be any awkward WW2 feelings in the clubhouse.

Then, I will vote to punish a Republican Party I have grown to despise, regardless of whether the candidate is in the likeness of Trump. These are my voting motivations.
Once the party returns to normalcy, I will consider voting for its candidates again, because I lean right on more issues (I actually did vote for the Republican AG since democrats are so horrible on crime, punishment, and policing - issues in which I am very conservative).

I like this move. At worst, Anderson should provide league average innings and stay healthy. At best, he pitches like a number 2/3 for a fraction of the price. It is nice knowing there are now five legitimate starters pencilled in for next year.

I look forward to seeing how much money Trump bilks out of his followers before he gets his shit pushed in during the primaries. If by some miracle he makes it through the primaries he will lose by a bigger margin than 2020. Maybe that’s the rock bottom the country needs politically or at least the reps before they pull their heads out of their asses.

Love the signing. The Angels desperately needed an innings guy that keeps scoring down.
This is the perfect signing to pair with Ohtani, Sandoval, Detmers. They could still go after the Japanese stud and trade off guys like Suarez and others.

It makes no sense to pursue one of the big four shortstop free agents. The one position in which this organization actually has depth - and lots of it - is shortstop. Use the money instead to get an outfielder (we have no depth there at all) and pitching. And then let Fletcher, Rengifo, Soto, and Neto (and eventually Paris) battle for the middle infield spots.

Nimmo is my top choice this off-season. I actually think this team could compete next year with (1) Nimmo, (2) one very good starting pitching addition (Rodon) and (3) a healthy Trout and Rendon.

I agree. But only because of an absence of desire to spend. They can spend that and I believe still be under the cap.
