  1. Just rewatching this again. I'm curious to how it starts with "next victim". I remember reading she messed around with Tatis or someone else from the Pads, I wonder if he had to pay her? And I wonder if he or someone else tipped Bauer off? This is actually a pretty interesting "saga". Pretty crazy to watch it play out. I'm not a Bauer fan, but he got hosed. For 2 years or so he's had to keep a lot of this quiet for legal reasons. And the damage is done. Doesn't matter really what info he releases, he's basically branded for life. I'm guessing this news/new info gets read by at best half the people who read about the initial story, with him being the bad guy.
  2. One thing to note here (there's plenty) was the restraining order... It was always a head scratcher to me why she applied for one (they lived in different counties, and nothing was out there saying bye was harassing her), but also that it was denied. Which like he said here, is odd (but telling). It kills me that when this story broke, I was super excited to see the Dodgers get screwed for once. And they went ahead and won 100 games every year without him. Sigh.
  3. Not even just the owner. As long as the farm is empty, the FA market sucks, and Rendon and Trout miss most of the year while costing 80 million roughly, it's not going to make much difference who you bring in to make trades or fill out a lineup card.
  4. Just confirming, is that Bauer talking? He looks different, not sure if I'm going crazy or not. But this is good. Been looking forward to something like this. Not to defend him, but to clear up why PD/DA never filed
  5. So I'm not making this up... This literal thing happened again last night... on the literal exact same street.
  6. Reminds me of the housing for our guys in the minors.
  7. I hate the Mariners. And it would be nice to see someone other than Houston. That said, as much as I couldn't care less for any of them, and as much as I hate the Mariners, if like you said the Rangers shit the bed it would at least be fun to watch.
  8. It would be funny if Maddon shaved his head into a Mohawk that day too, because Mr T was still kind of a celebrity back then. And he tried to duplicate the major last year, but the team was too young to have ever seen DC Cab or Rocky 3.
  9. It's hard to believe, but we literally finally clawed our way out from under the Pujols/Hamilton deals, and find ourselves in the exact same spot. Nothing needs to be said about Rendon. He's been an absolute disaster. And he won't get better. I love Trout. Always will. And I'll cut him the slack that hey, he "earned" his deal, and no matter what, I'm OK with the dead money since we got his best years, he'll go to the Hall as an Angel etc etc. But he's not above being blamed here. It feels dirty and sacrilegious to do so. But it's reality.
  10. I don't say this to defend Minasian, but next year either he or his replacement will be fielding a team where Trout and Rendon are making something like $75 million. That tweet from over the weekend showing Trout's games played after the all star game each year should pop up here. (And I've been saying it since last year.... Trout is still Trout... the problem is the new definition of Trout is that he's going to miss half the season every year). And Rendon has barely played a full season of games spread over 4 years. The FA class sucks, and we have almost nothing left to trade. Fire Minasian, sure. What is that going to change though? A new GM isn't going to make a better FA class, or give us a better farm this winter.
  11. It's crazy to remember that era, when this Org was literally one to be proud of (like that ESPN article mentioned) and to see how bad we screwed it up. And we managed to do that by securing a huge revenue stream, drafting the best player in decades, and signing the best player in a century.
  12. I think it's the duo of the last few years being a total shitshow and that this one was well. The reason this season is "the worst" is because there was realistic hope this year. And it was like a balloon popping out of nowhere. Team was very much in it, and had a real chance. Then the injuries hit. Estevez fell apart. The first real trade we made in years (Giolito) turned into a worst case scenario. And it all came just a few months after Moreno broke everyone's heart by staying, and a few months before Ohtani is almost for sure leaving. And again, this shitshow comes as just the latest in too many bad seasons in a row. I'll cut slack due to the injuries. Rendon seems like a giant Vag, but I have no idea. But the rest are basically just the baseball gods pissing on us. Can't be mad that Trout broke his hand, Ward broke his face, etc etc. Cherry on top is Ohtani not hitting 50. That kills me, don't know why. And not that it matters that he's hurt and done for the year, but that literally the only thing worth watching and being excited about (Ohtani) was done out of nowhere. Would have been nice to at least get to see him finish out the year, likely his last as an Angel.
  13. The point of this article is what's been such a letdown to me this year. It's not that Drury and Renfroe were "big splash" adds. It's that they should have been nice back of the order bats to make the non trout/ohtani innings a game. Like it said, Drury has been basically what I hoped for. Renfroe a huge letdown. And obviously everyone else died. Like mentioned above, the plan of having Drury as the 6th guy in the lineup, behind ehat should have been an impressive trout-ohtani-rendon-renfroe order should have been pretty badass. But angels.
  14. I'll bet it's lost in translation, and actually means "going away from the halos".
  15. I thought Claude started this poll and it was going to be about Upton.
  16. Will know if shohei has a "bumpy" recovery. (That's a herpes joke)
  17. It would be funny if the Angels hacked his account and wrote "surgery went horrible, arm is killing me, I'll probably never pitch again", and got caught doing it.
  18. If he comes back and plays SS, we need to call him Pelvis Andrus.
  19. "Playing through pain" and "jack off". I was just starting to forget Ohtani and move on, and now all I can do is cry and think about him having another elbow surgery, and how... uncomfortable it must be for him.
