  1. agreed.Dropping 2-3 sucks. But cinc, IMO, is about the second best team this year. All 3 games were very close. Its tough watching our 3-5 scuffle, but votto and bruce have been pretty quiet as well.
  2. Richards is one of my sleeper breakout picks. Not saying he'll be a stud, but I think he'll be a mid rotation starter sooner than some think.
  3. I definitely think stanton to texas will happen. And I think profar will go along with olt. All depends where the rangers are in june/july though.
  4. Hmmmmm I like andrus. I like him a lot, super solid player. But that's kind of a bunch of money for him (IMO). Is he moving to second to make room for profar?
  5. Agreed chuck. Outside of the box thinking. Why are we not viewing trumbo as the 4th OF? Trumbo can pkay either corner when he doesn't dh, meanwhile conger is the backup/3rd catcher (if need be). I think that makes more sense than calhoun (at this point).
  6. Great read. Agreed on the yanks. That's one of the reasons I'm so big on sticking with our younger guys. And I don't care how big the dodgers media deal is, that team will get old all at once as well. Besides kershaw, none of their core guys are that young, and all are locked up for years.
  7. starting to look like kendrys would have been a better pitcher than vargas.
  8. Question doc. Are we calling him j-ham, of jam?
  9. Nice write up scotty. I think conger is a fine backup, but sosh isn't as big of a fan as we are. I think pujols' best days are behind, but agree that he's going to bounce back strong. I think he, trout and hamilton will push each other. (Trumbo will be the unsung bat that hits 30 and drives in 90 plus). Bourjos doesn't have the bat for a gold glove, but most importantly, he has the glove for it. I think he'll take off this year. 270 with 40 doubles, 10 triples. I think he can steal 30, but likely won't with trout behind him (no green light). Don't know if richards will be a 'stud', but I think he's ready for a breakout too. Nothing all star like, but a high 3 era, solid arm every 5 days.
  10. I have the same concerns as everyone else. That said, I tjink a big part of it is because we are so used to dominant pitching. 2002 had a starting staff worse than this, albeit with a better bullpen (by far). But the offense this year should be huge. I think pujols bounces back decently. Trout and hamilton will fall off a bit, but we should still score 5-6 a game (averages), enough to support a mediocre staff. The skanks won it just recently w sabathia and burnett. Vargas can be phil hughes. Hanson can be better (fingers crossed) Basically its a different approach than were used to so no one has the warm and fuzzy just yet.
  11. Kendry (and boras) were not going to wait and get paid a dh's salary. And if were going to mention pujols getting old and ready to dh (veru true), its not like morales is all that far away from the same status.
  12. Chicken dinner. Morales was a guarantee to walk after this year. Trumbo may never be morales offensively, but he can play multiple positions and is still cheap and under club control. Yeah, we're trying to win now. But I assume winning tomorrow is still in the plans as well
  13. Yep. I think trumbo in the juice age would easily be a 45ish home run guy, with an improved avg based on harder contact (.270 range). I saw him take bp in spring. His power still stands out among his peers. Its obviously just bp, but maybe therebis something to him working on a new approach.
