  1. I'd find it hard to believe the Doyers wouldn't go to 6 years. With Price and Zimmerman off the table, they basically had to re-sign Greinke. Their whole team is built around having an unbeatable 1-2 punch. I wonder if Zach didn't just want out of Dodger-town.
  2. I both think Iannetta will have a decent bounce-back season in 2016 AND I'm glad he won't be back with the Angels. Ready for a change.
  3. Based on the fact that you think they're going to blow their wad on a SP this winter, or that you think Arte doesn't want to spend more $ period?
  4. I like it. I'm guessing he and Perez will basically split time at the start of the season, with the idea that Perez will slowly grow into a more starting C role. If Perez struggles, then Soto seems like a pretty steady alternative.
  5. sad about giving up Newcomb and Ellis BUT in the last 2 years we've finally shed Kendrick and Aybar, two of the lowest IQ players I've ever seen. That's progress.
  6. everyone is calling Eppler a retard, but really, all this means is that he doesn't value Newcomb nearly as much as others. Most of the people on this board are basing their opinion solely off of what they've heard 2nd and 3rd hand of Newcomb. Eppler knows more about him than any of us, so for now we just have to trust his evaluation. Time will tell if he's right or not.
  7. I'm confident he will have a bounce back season and I still don't want him back. His defense and game calling is for shit.
  8. Decent chance that happens. No way Eppler elects to go into the season with just Perez and Bandy. Those aren't event his guys. I definitely see him picking up a C in FA or via trade.
  9. Thank the **** christ. Angels would have been better off putting one of those pitch-back nets behind home plate the last few years.
  10. All staff totals for 2015 should have a giant asterisk - do people not remember how out of his mind Santiago pitched in the first half? No way he comes close to that next year, which means you have a collection of mediocre middle to back end SPs and hopefully, hopefully a front line guy in Richards if he bounces back. That's not a great rotation.
  11. If that ended up being our offseason - yikes. We already have 4 or 5 versions of Kennedy on the team, we don't need to lose a draft pick to get another. Murphy isn't as much of an upgrade over Gia as people think, and he's way more expensive. Pass. Cespedes feels like someone this board would grow to hate. Streaky, all or nothing, some ugly ABs - I predict he'd be the 2016 board whipping boy.
  12. I agree last night was mostly on Gibbons. Anyone could see he had lost it. But in general, playoffs or regular season, I've always thought Price was somewhat overrated. And yes, he's likely to get WAY overpaid this winter.
  13. Please add: failed to talk Mike Scioscia into retiring.
  14. Who's this Mike Napoli kid? Sounds intriguing.
  15. No doubt that catch will garner him a few more first place votes, but I still think he finishes second.
  16. Don't know how anyone could not say it's the offense. Outside of one short stretch, it was consistently awful all season.
  17. He won't be back, guaranteed. He was Dipoto's acquisition, now we have a new GM. No way Eppler pays FA money for him.
  18. If it's Eppler, I think we have to wait until the Jankees are disqualified, no?
  19. We're not really going to start Wever on the road in Texas with the season on the line, are we?!?!?
  20. You were pissed off that JD traded away a back-up C for an equally good, if not better, back-up C AND a young, talented, cost-controlled SP? Ok . . .
  21. A distant ****ing second. Yours truly, Gary Matthews, Jr.
  22. He clearly deserves it over Donaldson? Nope. Don't discount Donaldson's season just because Trout plays for your favorite team. IF the Angels make the playoffs and IF Trout has a huge final week here then I think he has a shot. But otherwise, no way.
