  1. yeah, they're not winning this game. You can just feel it. And Weaver can take his tirades and shove em up his ass.
  2. in other (good) news: William Boor ‏@wboor 2m2 minutes ago #Angels top prospect Sean Newcomb has a no-hitter through five (one walk, three K's) in Arkansas tonight.
  3. from what I understand, he's got a little Ervin Santana in him. Great one start, absolutely awful the next.
  4. Kaleb, please give us a reason to be optimistic about 2016.
  5. Jeff Fletcher ‏@JeffFletcherOCR 2m2 minutes ago Not a big fan of Mike Scioscia calling a sacrifice for the 3rd time against a pitcher who can't get anyone out on his own. ****in' A, Fletch. ****in' A.
  6. yeah, I hear you on that. And had it been any other players on the team besides Trout and Calhoun, I could get behind it a little easier. Anyway, kinda sounds like it's all a moot point and Weaver was venting in general rather than showing anybody up.
  7. yeah, but a bunt would have been sexier, Erick.
  8. this thread was a total jinx. GG will be coming after me now :/
  9. Angels ‏@Angels 10s10 seconds ago INF Grant Green removed from tonight's game with right knee discomfort. #Angels
  10. beat writers weighing in on yellgate: Mike DiGiovanna ‏@MikeDiGiovanna 3m3 minutes ago Just saw video clip of Jered Weaver outburst. He was screaming at everybody, mad-at-world outburst, not just Trout. #Angels Mike DiGiovanna ‏@MikeDiGiovanna 2m2 minutes ago I will add that I have not seen #Angels P Jered Weaver that mad in years, even at me. Jeff Fletcher ‏@JeffFletcherOCR 3m3 minutes ago Upon review of the Jered Weaver incident, looks like he was just yelling at everyone/venting, not aimed at Trout/Calhoun.
  11. I appreciate Weaver's competitive spirit, but it always kind of irritates me when a pitcher gets on his teammates like that. Especially two guys who always bust their ass out there and have helped the team all season. Shit happens. It's not like they yelled at Weaver in the middle of all his crappy starts earlier this year. People used to hate Lackey for this same thing, but Weaver does it and is a hero.
  12. more for the lolz around here, I kinda hope Green isn't hurt and MS just decided to pinch-hit for him in the 4th inning.
  13. so do we think that was Aybar's decision to bunt? Walk, single, HR, double, and Aybar bunts. In the first inning. ****ing moronic whomever's decision that was.
  14. (of which I'm a member) he's almost certain to get regular ABs from here on out, so if he doesn't do anything with them let's all agree to stfu about him after this season.
  15. OBP has been a problem for a while. The best was probably 2009 when Figgins and Abreu at the top of the order were both over .400. But for a long time they've really had a problem finding/developing guys with good plate discipline. Kendrick and Aybar are great examples and it's a big part of why each of those guys get on my nerves so much. It's also interesting that Pujols has walked so much less since coming here. Part of it is certainly his overall decline and pitchers not being afraid to challenge him as much, but it definitely seems like the managers/coaches here preach an aggressive hitting approach that is somewhat out of step with current MLB.
  16. Each franchise's most hated player of all time. http://www.rantsports.com/mlb/2015/07/25/the-most-hated-player-in-every-mlb-franchises-history/?utm_campaign=RantSportsFB&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral 30. Los Angeles Angels - Josh Hamilton
  17. they do need to sacrifice the next 2-3 years, which sucks because they'd be wasting some of Trout's prime years, but it would give them a good shot at being great again. The alternative is to keep trying the band-aid approach (Wieters, Heyward/Upton et al) and most likely be mediocre to bad for the remainder of Trout's contract. To me the best thing they have going for them is a talented young pitching core - Richards, Santiago, Heaney, Skaggs, Tropeano. They can either trade 1 or 2 of those guys to get some offense and hope they pick the right 1 or 2 guys to trade, OR they can just hope some of their young bats eventually develop enough to be useful. They'll probably have to do some of both. Bottom line is they're going to need some good fortune, in the way of a prospect or two blossoming into a great player.
  18. no offense, but kind of fitting that there's a grammatical mistake in the title of this thread.
  19. wait, is Ryan Jackson black? I don't want to get my hopes up and then have it turn into a Reggie Willits situation all over again.
  20. make tonight a date night, fellas. earn some points with the lady and avoid the agony of watching this debacle.
  21. i'll gladly eat a little crow on Weaver. I thought he was toast, he is proving me wrong.
  22. thanks. been busy the last couple weeks so I guess this one just flew past me.
  23. wait, who the **** is Jackson? and congratulations, kid, you get to face David Price.
