  1. was less about criticizing Scioscia and more about not letting TD use the argument that MS must be doing a great job since the roster is so bad and we're still in contention. In reality, both sides of the MS argument use the 'Scioscia must have told them to/not get a hit' in whatever way suits them.
  2. Admittedly, that's slightly worse than I thought. Like I said, I would like to see an upgrade at 2B but I still maintain that C and LF are bigger needs.
  3. Because Scioscia is a genius. Obviously. Thank god he was here to tell Albert to go out and have a career resurgence. And thank god he talked Santiago into being an All-Star SP. all hail the big catorce.
  4. Disagree. Not saying Angels don't need to upgrade 2B, but C is involved in every pitch of the game, and Iannetta sucks on offense and defense. That position has been a black hole all year. LF is supposed to be a position you get a lot of offense from - again, it's been a black hole all year. Relative to other 2B, Gia hasn't been great, but he's been OK. Again, I wouldn't mind seeing them upgrade 2B, but I don't think it's nearly as much a priority as C or LF.
  5. don't see why in the world they'd have him do anything this season. At most he'll throw some in AFL or winter ball. I don't think he's someone you can pencil in for the 2016 rotation though. People forget that TJ recovery is actually closer to 18-24 months. I'm guessing he starts slow next spring and doesn't pitch for the big club until May/June.
  6. I disagree with this statement. Not spending big bucks this offseason doesn't necessarily mean he isn't committed to winning. Sometimes the most prudent thing to do is sit tight and regroup, let things play out, wait for bad contracts to come off the books, etc.
  7. yes, I've heard his golf game is really coming along.
  8. he said recently that the wrist bothered him for a few days after he hurt it, but that he's 100% now and just going through a tough stretch. Could be covering it up, but at this point I think we have to take him at his word.
  9. wow, I didn't realize he'd been that bad. That's ugly.
  10. well that was a wasted opportunity. good thing those very rarely come back to bite this team.
  11. I think it's great that Albert isn't so precious about his defensive position, as a lot of veteran guys with his resume would be. Is he a little delusional in thinking that he could play SS at this level? Yeah, sure, but you want your top athletes to be slightly delusional. Michael Jordan thought he could become an MLB player. He probably still thinks he could hang in the NBA. Don't really get knocking on Albert for this, other than people just being butt hurt cause he hasn't hit much in the second half.
  12. if they don't at least get a hit this inning, I'm checking out for the night.
  13. jesus, i just realized the bottom 4 of our lineup is Gillaspie/DeJesus/Perez/Featherston. That's disgusting.
  14. well, small victory in only giving up 1 run there. Looked like it was headed for disaster there.
  15. yup. Angels offense is the chubby girl with insecurity issues. Slumpbusters.
  16. I have nothing to back this up, but it sure seems like Melky is one of those hitters that always kill us.
  17. remember that day a few years ago when we had an entire lineup of hitters over .300?
  18. it doesn't even phase me any more. It's who he's been since day 1, and it ain't gonna change now.
  19. I don't care if Trout strikes out swinging, but jfc stop watching strike 3 go by. You're our #3 hitter, our best run producer, and you're up with men on base - drive them the **** in. #troutrant #donthatememike #istillloveyou
  20. kinda takes some of the fun out of watching/rooting for the team when half the lineup is a platoon of has-been mercenaries that will be gone next year.
