    The offense is predicated on the idea that Trout and Pujols will both drive in runs consistently from the middle of the order. We can assume with relative certainty that Trout will do his share, but if this is the beginning of the end for Albert, this team has no shot this year. We just don't have the pieces to go get a MOTO bat. A couple complimentary guys, maybe, but not the stud we would need.

    If this goes on for another couple of weeks, I'm going to have to think there's either some sort of injury we don't know about, or a personal issue off the field. He's just not himself.

    what a difference a series makes. Arrived in Oakland on Monday 2-4 and the offense sputtering. Leaving today 5-4, in first place, and the offense, well, it's looking better. Feels like the season just got put on a different trajectory.

    I don't mind pinch-hitting Cron here. He's an all or nothing hitter, you need a HR . . . let him take some hacks and see if his bat runs into the ball.

    He's solid. Neither he or Perez is anything special but honestly this is probably the first time since Benjie where I don't feel like some part of our catcher's game is a huge liability.

    I'd argue the good pitching is PART of it. Of course the other part of it is the offense being stinky.

    So far this year's offense is more listless than last year. That's a kind of accomplishment.

    The difference being, these past 6 games, you know, count.Also, read my post - did I say the offense was going to be awful all year because of these 6 games? No, I just pointed out a couple stats about how anemic it's been so far. And yes, I think you should be publicly ridiculed for your insane comments the last week of spring about how our b squad beating the Cubs in a meaningless game meant we would beat them when the season started.
