I hate these " should've", "could've", "would've" articles. I'm sure we can expect an article next telling us that Segura could've been at the top of the lineup with Trout or Corbin could be in the rotation instead of Blantana.

I am an angels fan.  I don't give a sh*t about players and how many All Star teams they were on with the Rangers or St. Louis (stupid billboard) and I don't really care about them once they leave.

I agree only if it's very likely you'll actually win the division, and are adding pieces to help you go deeper into the playoffs (as was the case with the Teixeira trade). In 2012 is was a question mark if the Angels would even get into a wild card (At best a coinflip 163rd game, not the real playoffs). IMO that takes away a lot of the upside of going for an ace for your playoff rotation if there's a good chance you won't see the playoffs.

That's correct. Winless Joe vs. Santana on Thursday. Enright is in AAA.

Evidence? Are you implying he would have only received hundreds of millions without signing Boohols?

Considering how much the Dodgers got I actually highly doubt signing Pujols had anything to do with the TV deal.

I don't know how anyone older than around 13 years-old could enjoy listening to Hudler do the games. He comes off sounding like a cheese ball clown. He talks down to the audience and treats the audience like a bunch of 8 year-old little leaguers that have never played baseball before.

Physioc was bland and Hudler was pretty much an 8 year old on a sugar rush.

guys, just ignore mhd.  His goal is to take any thread about Bourjos and derail it.  He will make troll posts, then whine about all the negative responses he gets.  Then the thread will get deleted and he wins.

    Just ignore it.

    Bandwaggoners??? Really????
I have been a die hard fan of The Angels since the mid 70s, since I can remember. I spend $$$ every year seeing, them including this past weekend. I buy gear evey year, hats, jerseys and whatnot. My desk is loaded with Angels clocks and mousepads, rally monkeys etc...I dont have a 2nd favorite team, well, except any team playing someone in the AL West.
My Fn IPhone has an Angels cover, still, right now.
Watching this team "play", if thats what you call it these days, is painful. Its heartbreaking. Its not fun, exciting, or remotely entertaining. ITS HEARTBREAKING.
I cant watch ESPN, MLB Network, because its going to be brought up HOW BAD THIS TEAM IS.I work at a radio station that has ESPN right next door, and guess what those dudes want to talk to me about everyday???? UGGHHH.  I cant hear it anymore, or take it. I cant believe for a second that this season, of my favorite sport and favorite team in ANY sport is OVER.
Will I watch these guys tonight? Yes. But have I been racing to get home to watch this pathetic display of whatever the F they are doing??? Hell no!
You know what Im excited for? Football. I cant wait to see what my football team can do. I root for The Chiefs BTW. yeah, its that bad. NFL Network is on in my home. In MAY? Unheard of in my house, but its the deal.
I am a lifelong fan, who cant wait for baseball season to start every single year. Just because Im angry, disgusted and heartbroken, doesnt mean Im a bandwaggoner. If anything, Im too emotionally invested and need to take a breath and just say its only baseball.

    GO CHIEFS!!!!

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to WallyWorld in Trade Proposal: Trumbo To SD for Denorfia and Cashner
i wouldn't do this trade, but I think Trumbo is overvalued by many on this board, particularly at the moment because he's on a hot streak.

A couple things - first, he hits for power but that's about it.  Mediocre average (he will finish at .250/.260), very few walks, lots of strikeouts, and is not a good defender.  People are easily seduced by the HR.  For the right return, I would trade him, even though it would hurt because he's a local boy and he is talented.

The other thing is, you'd only be trading Trumbo if you're doing a tear-down and trying to rebuild, in which case by the time you're ready to contend again, Trumbo will have been a FA and you'll end up having to pay him more money than he's worth.  Would be wise to trade him now - again, IF you're deciding that it's rebuilding time,

Let bygones be bygones.  Hindsight is always 20/20.  There are plenty of reasons these guys are no longer on the Angels roster.  Change of scenery did them good.

Would we like to trade them back?

you know absolutely nothing about Arte other than what you see as a fan from the outside looking in.  You know nothing about his true level of loyalty to any particular individual.  Nor do I or anyone else on this board for that matter.  Calling him out on something that you have very little to go on is arrogant and tiresome.  If and when Arte and the front office decide it's in the best interest of the team to make a leadership change then they will and frankly neither me nor you nor the rest of us will know the exact reasons why it happened so put your false bravado back on the shelf and keep your misguided vendettas to yourself.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Angel Oracle in 2013 NFL Draft
One OC Register article had the Rams tied for the best draft (A) with the 49ers and Vikings.

Austin and Bailey, along with the trio of returnees that features a future rising star in Chris Givens, give the Rams a wealth of receiving which minimizes losing Amendola to FA.
LB Alec Ogletree could potentially have as big of an impact on defense as Janoris Jenkins had during his 2012 rookie season.
    T.J. McDonald upgrades the secondary.

A potential steal may be 5th round pick, RB Zac Stacy.   He is just 5-8 but also a rock solid 215, who gets downhill very well and played against tough competition for Vandy in the SEC.    The question is, can he float out of the backfield and catch passes like former RB Stephen Jackson did?

It makes the team's OF defense better when Bourjos is in CF and Trout is in LF.

I'm tired of Trout jumping up like he's trying to rob a HR when the ball isn't even close to being a HR or diving when he doesn't really need to dive to catch the ball.

Here is what is funny to me.  The one whole season and this small season are the two that Dipoto has been gm and they have sucked big donkey balls.

At least Sosh has a track record of success.  How can anyone argue that Dipoto is some great baseball mind when he has no record to prove that.  I remember a poster talking about looking at the scoreboard.  Well I am looking at the scoreboard and so far Dipoto is a fail.  Bad FA contracts, bad pitching acquisitions and a bad team.

I also giggle at the notion that Dipoto is somehow not doing what he wants.  He chose to be here with Sosh as the manager.  He agreed and if there was some kind of statement from Arte that Sosh would not be fired, which I highly doubt, then he came here with his eyes wide open.

Dipoto may end up successful, but so far he's done nothing to prove that will be.
