  1. Ohtani is making $65 million this year. $35 million from endorsements. Those endorsements aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

How much money does a supposedly humble guy from Japan need? If he goes to the Dodgers or Yankees, those endorsements might go up along with the $50 million contract they would pay, he could make $100 million a year. That’s just crazy.

I love watching him play, but am torn over whether the Angels should sign him. If they only win one WS over the course of his contract, is it worth it?

I think this season has been tough on the team. They are all playing too hard, putting more pressure on winning in order to resign Ohtani than I think they usually would. I am sure it is an air of stress over the heads of everyone in the organization.

Like I said, I love watching him play, but I also like watching an entire team that is playing well.

  2. I think Perry and Arte need to sit down with Ohtani and see what he wants. Maybe he wants to stay where he started and finish out his contract. Maybe he doesn’t want to leave his teammates via trade.  Maybe he does. Maybe he wants to carry the team.

Arte always seemed like a player’s owner. I would assume there is some relationship built where these discussions can, or have taken place.

  3. Juggler.

I was 14 and some company hired me to stand on a street corner and juggle to advertise their business. They paid like $10 an hour.

Then people started throwing change and dollar bills from their cars. So I timed the lights, worked up a routine and would juggle for like 45 seconds, then run through the street “passing the hat”.

    I would make $300-400 a weekend.

It only lasted a month or two before the cops put an end to it.

2002 was one of the luckiest years ever in the sense that the roster played better than they were.  Good health, career years, final good years up and down the roster.  Those that built the team were fortunate that it all came together and continued in the playoffs.

So, what you are saying is, with a little luck, the Angels can win the WS this year. Then Arte can sell the team, buy the movies rights for his life, and say see you at the Oscars.

I know quite a few hardcore cons that have EVs. Are there really people that are against the EV auto market as a whole?

Yeah, I drive an EV (it’s fucking awesome) and my super Con family gives me crap about it. I have also been coal rolled a couple of times, seen non EV’s block chargers, etc. and my car looks just like the gas version of the same car.

There is a ton of Anti EV lies being spread.

It’s cool though. I went from spending $160 a WEEK on gas (November of 21) to $100 a month on electricity.

We are getting another EV in 23. I don’t ever want to go back to gas cars.

Wednesday night and yesterday were like the flu, today is more like a bad cold.  But I am super winded walking up my stairs.
    Thanks!

That was the worst part for me. The flu part sucked for a few days, but the exhaustion lasted for a while.

Take the time to slow down and rest.

    Fell better soon!
