Trout hasn’t tuned out. Hell, he can see our pitchers tipping their pitches from the outfield.

Sooooooo, in fewer words, they just plain suck.

I mean, most of the 2002 lineup will be there tonight. Maybe we can put them in. 

I would say

1. the 5-9 in the order. Losing a healthy Rendon  and Fletcher is huge. You can have a guy like Squid or Marsh who may be struggling offensively, but great defensively, if you had those two hitting.

2. Bullpen is weak. Like what was said above, they don’t instill fear into opposing batters. They try to pitch around, get behind in the count and then throw it down the middle.

3. Too many called strike one and three. It drives me crazy to see Trout stare at strike one down the middle and basically start his at bat behind the count.

4. Pulling Iglesias last night after 10 pitches sucked. That’s bad management.

5. Lack of situational hitting.

That ball was drilled.

Last night, Trout watched a fast ball right down the middle in the 9th inning. Stassi watched a called third strike.

Think about it.

No COVID shut down. Starting pitchers threw the ball at least 5 mph softer and were expected to go 7 innings, regardless if they were spent after three. Steroid era, as players necks and arms expanded, fences got shorter.....and players stole bags with reckless abandon, not caring if they were thrown out. 

Shit was crazy. 

Baseball sure was fun to watch in 90’s.

You knew it was wrong, but boy, was it exciting.

Not saying they should do it, but if they trade Ohtani for some pitchers and a middle infielder with power. Then, you call up Adell, rotate the current outfield between the field and DH, saving some wear and tear on Trout, and hope a couple of the dozen pitchers they picked up in the draft pan out. The Angels save some cash and go through a mini rebuild. 
 

Trout wanted to be an Angel for life because of either loyalty or the relaxed atmosphere. I am pretty sure the Angels knows that.
 

I am not sure Ohtani feels the same. If they are out of it at the trade deadline, I think the Angels need to have a serious sit down with Ohtani. If they can’t agree, then they need to think about moving him.

Why would Espada come to the Angels if he is in line to take over the Astros? 
 

I think Perry will pull from someone he knows.

It’s hard to hit for power when all you do is swing and miss.

There is no way Arte will trade his biggest marketing piece, no matter what they get back in return.

What happens when these are the uniforms that are worn when they break the losing streak?

Can they wear them again the next day?

It's tough to win when the team's 4 top offensive players are either injured or shitting the bed. Pretty easy to pitch around the others. Perry built the bullpen that has lost how many of these games. Starting pitching has blown a few too.

This team just sucks right now. Is that all Maddon's fault? not entirely, but he should take some of the blame, as should Perry, Trout, Ohtani, Thor, Iglesias and everyone else.

The clubhouse supposedly had this great chemistry that pulled everyone together. Where is that chemistry now?

I don’t even watch the games. I just scroll the GDT and imagine what is happening.
