Really enjoyed listening to this today.  Loved hearing Victor’s voice and feedback on the team once again.  

Can Sandy go 6 innings? I sure hope so. I’d love to see him and Detmers start going deeper into games. Feels like Ohtani is the only guy that can go more than 5 theses days.

I’ll take part of the blame.  
I tried to say something positive, not make fun of any player or poster, not make dick jokes or make off-color comments and this is the baseball Gods telling us that it’s not my role.  I need to be able to make more racist and sexist jokes and talk about weiners or shit like this happens.  Blame Tank and Blarg for complaining to Chuck.  
Screw it, I’m going all in on offensive comments, and not because I want to, but because I care about this team.  And if it bothers anyone, then you don’t care about the Angels.  Simple as that.

Defense is important! We lost yesterday because of bad play. 
Glaus struggled with his bat as a rookie but his defense kept him in the games. 
This doesn't solve 1B unless Urshella now goes there. 

I've been saying since Ohtani signed the 1 yr 30M deal (without going to arbitration) that my gut tells me if the Angels make the playoffs this fall and show some fight, and Sho gets a taste of meaningful, do-or-die games (like he got in WBC) then he'd be willing to re-sign with the Angels at a team-friendly "discount" even while other teams offer more $.

Again, that's just my gut feeling, which is probably naive and over-optimistic... but everything I know about the guy says to me that he's not driven by money. He's almost like a celibate monk, singularly devoted to baseball, and the process of becoming the best baseball player ever (not the highest paid, though he surely will be). 

One thing is for sure... I need to brace myself for the endless assault of speculation over the next few months. It seems like every single outlet of national and local news, every sports site, every baseball podcast, YouTube, etc is cranking out daily content guessing how much $ he'll sign for, and/or which team will be be paying him.
I'm already over-saturated, and it's only just begun...

I find myself expecting them to win this year so far.  When they were winning early in the year last year, I didn't believe in it.  

I hope they do not lose Lamb.

Walsh is undergoing treatment at a facility in Utah. They said he’s making progress but there’s no timetable. 
 
Stassi is still dealing with his family situation. 
 
If both showed up ready to play tomorrow, I’m guessing they would DFA Lamb and send down Wantz to go with 3 catchers. 
 
But neither is showing up tomorrow, so we don’t need to worry about it. Stuff will happen

To those of you who thanked me or applauded me, I am really uncomfortable with all of this. I am not interested in taking a victory lap for simply doing something that was not that difficult. 
Once they set the precedent that they only want team-friendly reporters on their show, and once Sam told the world they did it, I certainly couldn’t keep going on the show without being accused (wrongly, I might add) of being some sort of team mouthpiece. 
 
I also feel bad for Terry Smith, who is just trying to do his job and put on a little show once a week to mix it up from the normal pregame stuff. 
 
This is not the first time this has happened. A beat writer for another team texted me today and said the same thing happened to him but he didn’t publicly announce it because he didn’t want to be the story.
 
I was told last year that a third party who didn’t like something I had written prevented me from going on a particular podcast to talk about my Ohtani book. Whatever. It happens. I do what I have to do and not everyone is going to like it, but I never want to make myself the story. 
 
But ultimately it’s the Angels who started all this with an obviously terrible decision, so here we are. 

I am not at all surprised they didn’t invite him back. Like @Inside Pitch said, you can ask probing questions and not be a dick about it. He is a beat reporter, part of that gig is to build relationships with the team and the players.  He never came across as a guy that is interested in that.  I think he views himself as an investigative reporter and if that is the case, then he should go be an investigative reporter instead of being a beat reporter. My opinion hasn’t changed, I still think if @Jeff Fletcher and Blum both asked the same questions in a report one is going to report on what was said and one would write about what questions weren’t answered.  I think this looks bad to lose all of the reporters for a show I don’t think I ever listened to, but it comes as no surprise this happened to a guy like Blum.  
Jeff Fletcher, good job for standing up for your colleague.  That is awesome.

The Angels really do have some issues, but it really is the lack of success on the field that allows every little “off the field” thing to be amplified.
Winning overshadows a whole lot.
Hopefully we will experience that soon.

But for those of you holding Blum up as some misunderstood paragon of righteous truth seeking..  You know it's possible to ask hard questions/be critical and NOT come off like a prick, right?  Or do you all also believe Peter Doocy of FOX News is just "asking hard questions and telling it like it is".  I guarantee you the people that agree with his slant on things believe that's all he's doing too.  Meanwhile anyone who isn't some tribal political twat knows he's being a prick.
Again, the guy is exactly the same regardless of the topic and the Angels shouldn't be acting like bitches, but the dude does himself no favors.

Comes off as arrogant, but it is their show.  If it were this by itself I would not be concerned but it’s a part of a pattern of what I consider to be dismal public relations and makes me wonder if they give a shit what we think.

Let me add, I have no problem with Blum lifting up the rock to show what's underneath but he had to know they wouldn't tolerate it every episode. He basically fired himself being himself. Blum, like Adell, needs to learn how to play the game a little better.
