They're kind of slow on picking up on things. Or they just don't care. Ebola should be a hit there.

Since pastrami was brought up. If you like it and sometimes make your own sandwiches, try the stuff Costco sells. ( If they don't have it, it's because they still  have a boat load of corned beef that Tank and his buddies haven't bought up yet. For some reason these two are mutually exclusive at Costco.)
 
The pastrami Costco sells on toasted San Luis sourdough bread w/ mustard and pickles is quick, easy and restaurant quality good.

We conserve more than the rest of the country does. Why should we do with less. Do we ask them to eat less because they can't grow as much?

I fail to see how anyone not pumping water from the ground they live on or a stream that runs through it is any different than SoCal. Piping water in is piping water in - whether it is a couple miles or a couple thousand.
 
It's amazing to me that the people who live in the cold areas that have abundant water don't have a problem  with the food that is trucked in from the warmer climates. Why don't they just live off what they can grow themselves?

Bike riders aren't any more obnoxious than car drivers. The difference is obnoxious car drivers maim and kill bike riders. I can't remember ever hearing of a bike rider seriously injuring a car driver.
 
As far as traffic laws, I'll bet the percentage of bike riders following them carefully is as high as the percentage of car drivers who do.
 
Nitpicking, but 20-30 on a sidewalk with a bike - haven't seen this either. Do you guys know how tough it is to ride 20+ mph on a bike.
