Palomar reacted to SoCALkid in Mrs Josh Hamilton now on The Real Housewives of Orange County
Pretty douche thing to say about a guys wife who stood by him through his addiction and lowest points in life. I'm sure she looks a lot better than any girl you've ever prematurely ejaculated with.

Palomar reacted to Angelsfirst in Twins to sign Torii Hunter
This feels about right. Best of luck to Torii. Has the heart of a champion, just no rings.

Why does everyone want to trade Freese? Who else is going to play 3rd? I certainly dont want beckham there every game

Palomar got a reaction from Doug Van Oort Sr in I would rather lose the way we did...
Saying you would rather lose in round 1 than game 7 of the WS. How many players are even able to say they PLAYED in game 7 of a WS. Yes, it is heartbreaking to lose but to put yourself out there and for your team to be in that position is what every player wants. KC has nothing to hang their head about. They breezed through the first two rounds and forced a game 7. Not even their fans expected that. The team exceeded all expectations and their players got valuable experience they can use in the future. And they won the frickin pennant.

Easy to say now. To lose at a play at home....the decision to send would be all that was talked about.

No I would've rather lost a championship game 7 than fold like a cheap lawn chair in the ALDS.
I'm sure that Arte, Jerry and Mike would agree. The extra revenue for the team and the city would've gone a long way in helping Arte get his deal done.

Palomar got a reaction from Jimmag in Gold Glove finalists announced
I'd love to see Albert and Calhoun win (not holding my breath) and glad they are at least in the finalists (and deservedly so) but disappointed there was no love for Aybar.

Palomar reacted to Brent Maguire in Sometimes You Just Run Into a Buzzsaw
Small sample sizes can give you a wide variety of results. The Royals on paper should've lost in the WC game or the ALDS, yet they've won their first 6 games.
The Royals aren't the best team in baseball, or even close to it, but that doesn't matter in the playoffs. There's a reason why teams make crazy moves just to get to October. Anything can happen.

Maybe we can sign one of OCR's delivery boys to replace CJ Wilson.

Palomar got a reaction from Torridd in Josh Hamilton reflects on 'frustrating' season, unhappy fans
The bottom line is Josh is never going to get the benefit of the doubt for saying something like that (regardless of HOW he meant it) until the fans connect with him and that is not going to happen until he starts hitting consistently. He didn't even hit ONE HR at home this year...it's not like we have fond memories. (Disclaimer: still don't like the booing and definitely don't think it helps the situation)

Arte should buy it and put Josh Hamilton in charge of the complaints department.

Palomar reacted to Halos of Anaheim in If Pujols can come back, then so can Hamilton
Lmao, I guess hitting 30 HRs and 100+ RBI's negates having a poor OBP and Average huh?

Palomar reacted to Michifan in Way over simplified, but . . .
I actually think the series was lost and won on two defensive plays. For the Royals it was the amazing catch of Howie's drive by Aoki. It got past Cain, which few hits had. If Aoki doesn't make that play, two runs score in the sixth inning, and there is no extra innings. Angels win game one. The other is Trout's misplay of Gordon's hit. It would not have been an easy play, but good defense was needed to neutralize the Royals as they were neutralizing the Angels. If Trout makes that catch, the Royals don't score their second run, and again no extra innings and the Angels win game one. I'm not sure how that might have changed the series, but I think the real difference for the Royals overall was defense rather than offense. Angels made some key mistakes that hurt them--others such as Iannetta's throws--yikes.

Palomar reacted to Docwaukee in We need to find players who can get it done...
3 game sample vs. 162 game sample.
how do you build your team for a 5 or 7 game series against and unknown opponent?
you do your best in the offseason and during the first half of the year to improve your team as much as possible in order to win as many games as you can and get to the post season. if you get there, you hope that you perform the same as you did to get there but there is nothing you can do in advance to guarantee that.

Palomar got a reaction from stormngt in This team impressed me over the long haul
It still comes down to everything again being a level playing field once the playoffs start. Obviously even though the Angels were able to get by with 4 starters the rest of the season after Richards went down, it was a huge factor in a short series, We got great pitching in two games when the Angels could not hit. Then, Shields was hittable but we did not get the pitching to be competitive. Wilson and Santiago could not get the job done and the overuse of the bullpen finally came back to haunt.
But when a team like the Royals have a series where everything goes right, they make unbelievable plays, and get HRs when they are not a HR team, it's almost like running into a buzz saw. Even with all this, the Angels could have won 1 or both of the first two games and made a series of it. Hopefully the experience will help hext year.

So only postseason statistics should be looked at when acquiring or signing a player? You do have to GET to the postseason.

As depressing as the outcome to this game was, reading the comments that so many have already written the Angels off are much worse. Many of the same people complaining about the Angel crowd?

Palomar reacted to Troutstanding in Worst fans
The atmosphere wasn't electric, and that's mostly because the Angels offense was bad. The crowd was really not the issue. I went to 30 games this year, and tonight's game was in the top 3 for crowd participation, volume etc. it would have been way over the top if the offense wasn't popping up and striking out every inning. Not to mention the defensive plays from the Royals...

Palomar reacted to Stradling in Worst fans
Cory, I'm going to sound like a dick but how can you, an Angel fan, criticize the fans tonight if you didn't even go. It's like when we bitch about how bad Angel talk is because of how bad the callers are but we never call ourselves. The crowd was into it tonight, just like every playoff game we've had since '02.
