    This season Bellinger is in the 34th percentile in barrel rate, 12th percentile hard-hit rate, 38th percentile walk rate, and 48th percentile expected wOBA...

     

    Which is a far cry from his NL MVP season (4 years ago) when he was 88th, 86th, 95th, and 100th respectively...

     

    His numbers have been solid over the first half of this season, but his swings in performance are huge and frustrating (and due for a regression in the 2nd half)...

    I know I should have explained the math a little better:

     

    Ohtani is going to need to carry this team to the Trade Deadline within striking distance of a playoff spot... And then maintain that for a couple weeks until Trout returns... And then both of them go beast mode for the final 6-ish weeks...

     

    like I said - that's my low probability dream...

    Uh... when was the last time we were on the brink of losing the greatest player in MLB history - and attempting to make a run at the playoffs again???

     

    It's more than this homestand - this next 2 weeks of games will define this franchise...

     

    The 710 AM crew just reported that Morosi is reporting that the Angels have let teams know that they're "listening to Ohtani offers"...

     

    ...just ugh...

     

    Too many miracles need to happen for this franchise to not circle the drain...

     

    In my dream world: Trout and Ohtani put on the most magnificent play-off push ever seen - and we sort it out at the end of the season - after making the playoffs... (probability: 8%)...
