Love that the Mets fleeced the Astros...
That is an albatross contract for an average pitcher...

Wow - it definitely felt like some terrible calls... but that's inexcusable...

This season Bellinger is in the 34th percentile in barrel rate, 12th percentile hard-hit rate, 38th percentile walk rate, and 48th percentile expected wOBA...
Which is a far cry from his NL MVP season (4 years ago) when he was 88th, 86th, 95th, and 100th respectively...
His numbers have been solid over the first half of this season, but his swings in performance are huge and frustrating (and due for a regression in the 2nd half)...

Didn’t the Angels just get the best SP (not named Ohtani) available at the trade deadline…
Perry pushing all in - let’s GO….!!!!

September Lineup: O'Hoppe C, Goldschmidt 1B, Drury 2B, Neto SS, Rendon 3B, Moniak LF, Trout CF, Renfroe RF, Ohtani DH

Didn't he get his 2nd hit against a lefty last night...? He's dealing...

He should be part of any Ohtani trade.
"Sure you can have Shohei, but you have to take this piece of shit with him."
Making Shohei the Trojan horse that gets Rendon out of here would sure take a lot of the sting out of losing Shohei - LOL!

who cares....!?!?!?
He'll just go right back out with another injury soon thereafter...

That is definitely a dream world, given that Trout's out for at least another three weeks, maybe more like 5-6.
I know I should have explained the math a little better:
Ohtani is going to need to carry this team to the Trade Deadline within striking distance of a playoff spot... And then maintain that for a couple weeks until Trout returns... And then both of them go beast mode for the final 6-ish weeks...
like I said - that's my low probability dream...

TG - You're the frog in a boiling pot of water - LOL!
I loathe hyperbole, but no matter which direction this goes... the impacts will be large... and they will be long lasting...

No it isn’t. Weve had home stands that have had playoff implications
Uh... when was the last time we were on the brink of losing the greatest player in MLB history - and attempting to make a run at the playoffs again???
It's more than this homestand - this next 2 weeks of games will define this franchise...
The 710 AM crew just reported that Morosi is reporting that the Angels have let teams know that they're "listening to Ohtani offers"...
...just ugh...
Too many miracles need to happen for this franchise to not circle the drain...
In my dream world: Trout and Ohtani put on the most magnificent play-off push ever seen - and we sort it out at the end of the season - after making the playoffs... (probability: 8%)...

It will have to literally be ASAP if he wants to be a teammate with Ohtani.
He’ll never see Ohtani….
Except in the visitors dugout …!

I wouldn't draft a first baseman in the first round unless he was TRULY something special with the bat. I thought Vaughn was, turns out I was wrong.
Vaughn…
Are you referencing Mo Vaughn…!?!?!?
Yeah… his bat was trash….

Under valued bat at a position of need from a mid-major….
Sounds familiar… (see: Z. Neto)…
Wasn’t my first choice…. But Minisian has proven an ability to find value… and save $ for high-risk picks later…
