That's hilarious!  You could see Kris getting a little bent, when Maddux first starts chirping at him...  But then, when the good pitches start firing, he starts smiling and the competition is on!  Love it!
It's a prank, and get pranked world.

Big outfield,  so cal, low fan expectations,  no DH = perfect spot for dream weaver. Im hoping he increases the velocity back to 86- 87 and has some moderate success.

Happy for Weave that he got a major league deal for that kind of money.  Hope he does well.  Glad he's not going to be trying to do so with the halos.

and lawmakers want to change that:
    http://www.ocregister.com/articles/beach-743100-beaches-people.html
Per the article: " The average cost of a one day visit to the beach was $22, not including parking or food, according to the study. And an increase of only $15, researchers found, could force many families to skip the trip altogether"
If $37 and the cost of sandwiches/food you bring with you is too much then you've got bigger things to worry about than the cost of a trip to the beach.  I grew up in a beach city and I realize that's a lot different than people who are ~10 or more miles inland some of which have never seen the ocean but we used to take the bus before we had cars to get around and that's still an option.  Just seems to me in the grand scheme of things this should be way down on the priority list of where time/energy of our elected officials goes.

I will never forget it; I have too much attachment to it because of family, friends, peers (on both the blue and red sides) and as a first-responder watching it unfold and wondering when it would be our turn to run toward something like that).  I had been a student of terrorism since I first studied history as a youngin, but I really started to pay attention to the Middle East and learning about Islam (and it's fanatics) after the '93 attack (where they promised to return and finish the job).
I have stacks of newspapers (from each coast), magazines, books, and videos/dvds related to the incident.  I'm waiting for my kids to ask me about it; I'll be able to answer (or find an answer) to their questions pretty quickly.  I continue to seek-out new information that comes-out as well.
It's very important to me that I try to learn about the incident, but more so about the heroic first-responders and victims.  There are many more amazing stories that I've yet to know about!  I think I've said it before here, but it reminds me of my place in this world in my job and life.  Follow the Golden Rule, but be prepared to respond to aid someone in need.

We also need to get suspects to stop fighting against police when being detained. They need to comply and cooperate instead of fighting back. We absolutely have a problem with some police officers going way too far, but we also have a problem with many suspects not complying with law enforcement. This is not 100% on the police.

Why these two? Because they're the first two people to jump out and scream RACISM and scream JUSTICE whenever a black man is murdered by a white man. How often do they campaign to end inner city violence? How often are they out there publicly decrying black on black violence? How often are they out there criticizing the wrongs of fellow black men? But when a white officer kills a black man, they're flying around this country to meet with the family and offer legal advice and support and aid and such.

This sounds horrible on its face. My heart goes out to the guy's family, particularly the child in the car. Black people shouldn't have to fear the cops just because they are black.
That being said, this is a single incident. When something like this happens, it is front page news and suggests a bigger problem than exists in reality. What is not reported are the tens of thousands of interactions every week among white cops and black citizens that take place without incident.
Further, you won't hear a word about the hundreds of black men who will shoot and kill one another over the course of the next month.
But a white cop did this, so all cops must be horrible.
