I should clarify that I should have used the word "statistically" instead of "traditionally". It has statistically been proven to be a poor run-producing spot in the order. You normally want to place a good power hitting, higher-strikeout player in that spot with the ability to take a walk when able, ideally.

The 3-spot is not traditionally a great run producing spot in the order. Surprised they don't have Trout hitting in the 2-hole or at cleanup. I think they'd be better off putting Ward in the 3-hole and Trout in cleanup.

Trout got moved up to the #2 spot for the first time this season in today's lineup.

  2. Entering play today, Mike Trout leads the American League with a .735 slugging percentage and is tied for the league lead with six home runs. He also ranks second with a 1.117 OPS.

With 969 career walks, Mike Trout is one walk shy of tying Tim Salmon (970) for the most in Angels history.

Trout is also the franchise leader in career home runs and runs scored.

Mike's 6 HR are tied with Troy Glaus (2001), J.T. Snow (1993) and Rick Reichardt (1966) for the most by any Angels player through 13 team games. No Angels players have reached seven HR through 14 team games.

Hey guys, as far as the FV goes, there were two main factors that went into the discrepancies.

    1. FV can be affected by likelihood of reaching the majors and even proximity. For example, I really don’t think you can put a 45 FV on Ben Joyce. Because I don’t see any middle ground with him. Either he figures it out and you have a 60+ FV reliever out he doesn’t and he’s a 40.

    2. Regardless of FV, it isn’t my own personal list. A lot of guys put in their time and offered their valuable input toward this, so my own assessment of FV doesn’t necessarily reflect everyone’s opinion. I think just an example, @Angelsjunky had some disagreement on Kyren Paris if I’m not mistaken, so that FV probably doesn’t reflect his view on Paris, which is ok.

    3. The FV can be a reflection of my own prospect optimism, which I’ve got a rep for. Truth be told, I think of the whole bunch, we’ve probably got 4 solid big leaguers and a collection of other guys that might get a cup of coffee, that’s about it.

Sorry if that throws you guys off.

Thank you for the explanation, @Second Base!!
