I'm very surprised to not see Sonny DiChiara on the top 30 list for the Angels.  It'll be a long shot for him to make the majors, but he mashed in college and is doing well in Double A in a small sample.  I know prospects is about projections and ceilings but players that have a floor can be valuable as well.  Kinda like how Kole Calhoun was never a top prospect in the minors and just grinded and improved to make himself a good MLBer.

Rating prospects seems rather pointless to me. Seems like that is just us possibly creating unrealistic expectations which will lead to more frustration and disappointment. I'll reserve judgement until they show what they got at the ML level

I gotta chop this one up a bit.  
For pretty much the last decade at least - probably longer, there has been a fairly strong collection of people who have failed at their job of winning baseball games.  
Now, either they aren't very good at it or it's actually not their job to win games.  Or at least not their primary concern.  Which one of these are we meant to believe?  
Arte, Carpino, Kuhl, whoever.  SOMEONE is doing it wrong.   OR.  they collectively don't have the agenda we want them to.  So have all the GM's they've hired been morons?  Or is it that the expectation and directive of what they are tasked with is almost impossible relative to what's actually realistic.  
I'm more inclined to believe the latter.  And not because I'm looking to blame anyone in particular.  I hate the blame game.  What I do like is solving problems.  And the biggest issue is that for whatever period of time we want to choose, no one has been able to solve the problem.   They've been essentially trying to do the same thing.  What is the root cause and how do you fix it.  
And btw, it's too late.  For next year for sure.  Maybe even for several years after that.  The only way you can 'solve' the problem now is to get really aggressive in ways that you haven't been.  That's my opinion.  You haven't completely burned this franchise to the ground as of yet but you might have to be willing to in order to get this shit to work and create an actual legit window.  And once again, you'll need a whole lotta luck.  And a whole lotta money that you're not likely to get.  

Do we even trust Perry to maximize the return on an Ohtani trade?  He didn't wow me personally with this past trade deadline.

Cutting Adell some slack on the hitting is totally fair.  MLB pitching is the best in the world and it takes time to adjust every step up in baseball a player makes.
But the defense is the same damn defense he’s been playing since before high school.  There is absolutely no excuse for him not to be at least average defensively.  He’s 23, not 12.

Its almost as if your team is dog shit year after year after year with no signs of improvement and no hope, people stop caring. Factor in a pandemic, an exciting team in Los Angeles and an exciting team down in San Diego...I hope the drop in attendance lights a fire under Moreno's ass to actually give the GM some spending room to address all of the needs.

I'm not ready to give up on Adell but for the life of me I cant figure out how he is this bad in the OF.  I don't know if more reps is going to help him become passable on def.  He is missing balls that high school kids wouldn't have a problem with.

I find the Def stat maddening and have no clue how they go about normalizing their positional component.  Assigning a single number like that across both leagues ignores park tendencies and is IMO flawed.  
My opinion is that individual defensive stats are really limited as a whole.  I believe teams can gain more from looking at batter/batted ball tendencies and aligning the defense accordingly than they can by trying to apply defensive metrics to individual players, in part because not all teams are getting the same data or universally applying it.  If you want to measure how much ground a guy can cover, his foot speed, assign a level of difficulty to a batted ball (again batter dependent), or how sure handed a fielder is....fine.  I believe that stuff is useful, but ultimately I think they eye test may be just as useful if not more so when talking about individual players.
Jo Adell is a super athletic DH or an OF than is fine going left or right but can't read the ball off the bat, and has awful mechanics in general.  Nobody that has had as many balls bounce off him as he has in such a tiny sample size should be comfortable playing matador defense or one handing shit.  Watching how Marsh positions himself to make a catch and then watching Adell try to make it look free and easy then fail is one of the most frustrating things ever for me.
It may be in his head or it may be that he's so busy trying to look good he's not putting in the effort to actually be good.  Either way he embarrasses himself on a regular basis.

Don't hire someone from the Angel's org.  They'd have 30% chance of missing and even if they did hit you, they'd probably just disfigure you and apologize.

I beg to differ, if Arte gave Perry to spend where the Mets and Dodgers spend next season, they can definitely contend.  The problem is that Moreno isn't letting Perry spend above a certain amount.  When the big boys spend 300 million and you're spending 60-65% of that, then you need to beat them in other areas like scouting and development.  Unfortunately, Arte doesn't invest in that either and they're saddled with large contracts for 3-4 players.
