Madden needs to cut that crap out and starting walking a few more guys, giving up hits, etc.  Otherwise he won't be available for us at #9.

He's been 23 all of two months and shouldn't have been called up.  But yes, Angel fans have already written him off.

Personally, I don't think we will see Minasian pursue a very expensive free agent or empty the farm for a top-of-the-rotation SP until we show we are right on the verge of a WS title team, at least not until the farm grows enough and both Pujols and Upton are off the books.
If Ohtani actually does pan out or gets close to it, he will soon cost a significant amount to re-sign.  Fletcher will soon cost quite a bit of money.  If we do re-sign one of Heaney/Bundy, they won't be exorbitant, but will likely command 3+ years at the minimum at 15mil/yr AAV+, depending on how this year goes.
Likely I think we are inclined to see Minasian take one year gambles while he lets the farm develop.  This is the same approach Eppler used, but the talent evaluation is mainly what matters.  If Minasian can be considerably more successful than Eppler at it, or well, just not downright awful at it like Eppler was, this team can be quite a bit better than we were under the Eppler years.

just... lol @ Odorizzi to Astros... First half of the off season gave so much promise, then reality hit.

Angels in 2030 reacted to Second Base in Gameday Thread: Angels @ A's 3/5/21: Ohtani on the mound!
We thought Perry Minasian underwhelmed this winter, but if you consider Ohtani and Rengifo turning the corner, he's also acquired an ace, a DH and a toolsy young infielder that is major league ready, in conjunction with a couple back end starters, a RF and a rebuilt bullpen.

My only goal for Ohtani today was for his arm not to fall off--so I'm very happy right now.

I'm over 50 and what you wrote is total bullshit.  You do not know what you are talking about regarding men over 50.  As @jsnpritchett indicated, the issue centers around power.
You might be a product of your times, but I am the product of my upbringing, difficult life lessons, difficult life choices and the people I choose to associate with.
    Product of the times--BWAHAHAHA

Oh for Pete's sake, Callaway is 45 years old.  He was 25 years old when the last plane allowed smoking.  He grew up not knowing anything about how to take a dick pick, but somehow he learned.  Quit making excuses for bad behavior.  Adapt or die lose your job.

A solid cost controlled #3 would be incredibly useful.  It’s got to be difficult to make the decision on draft day to take a safe #3 or a guy that might have a higher upside, but also has a much higher fail rate.

I would assume that same honor applies to the guy who has admitted to cheating on his wife, yet it feels as though you are supporting him.

This whole Calloway thing is icky. I don't care if he can turn every single Angels pitcher into Cy Frickin' Young, if he's doing the things he's been accused of, he's gotta go.  There's no gray area for me.
