I asked this in another thread... It's a good question.
I mean... maybe we should just wrap him in bubble-wrap?
Wait til the "wear and tear" crowd finds out he injured himself in the batter's box this year. The most obvious move is not to DH him, but to DH *for* him!
We can put Trout next to grandma's ugly couch that no one is allowed to sit on.

And the dude can swing the mashies and niblicks pretty well. Here's hoping he won't have time to hit the links until November next year.

Odd choice, having Bill Nighy playing Arte, but I think it works. Very nice.

Obviously the Padres would first need to get permission from the Pnudas to interview him.

I first read this as Rodney Dangerfield.

Does Swordsman have a full NTC? Presumably will waive it anyway.
Do we get a compensation pick from PadresWin? Ah wait, no, we don't, we didn't make a qualifying offer.

Does anybody here actually care who manages the Astros?
Only if they hire Ausmus.
In which case, I love it, as the Astros fans see their starter pulled before the 4th inning in about half their games.
I think an Ausmus-led Astros team finishes below the Angels in the standings. Which is why I'd love it.

That would be stupid, he has a whole $25 on the line not a house payment.
It's not stupid, it's perfectly reasonable opinion. What is stupid is thinking that ticket is still only worth $25 today, and that's all he has on the line.
He has at least $1085 on the line right now. With at Rangers -130 to win the Series as of today, that ticket has an actual hedge value of $1085, and a hold-to-end expected value of $1250 (i.e., someone betting on Arizona today would need to put down $1250 to cash $2500 for a win).

Also, I'm liking this idea until December 2024, when we would have had one year of Burnes and he leaves to sign with the Dodgers, and we'll still have to pay Yelich $26 million a year for four more years for #4 OF level production.
To put it in perspective, we'd be paying a late-thirties Yelich $26 million a year all the way through the final 2028 election debate between Gavin Newsom and Donald Trump. (Remember, after Trump "loses" in 2024, he's still constitutionally eligible to run yet again.)
