Odd that it's just Bally's though which I thought was owned by Caesars.
The Bally's name as a trademark is a confusing mess. Caesars just sold the trademark name for casinos last month to a company that was called Twin River. That company has now changed their name to Bally's Corporation and apparently intends to re-brand their casinos and racetracks to the Bally's name.
Caesars still owns the Bally's Las Vegas property and apparently keeps the rights to that name in Las Vegas. Maybe they'll rename that property in the future.
The deal with our favorite local sports network is with this recently renamed company, not Caesars. Best I can tell, the nearest property this company owns to SoCal is in Colorado, the Arapahoe Park race track in Aurora, CO. Presumably this is a marketing move in aid of Bally's online sports betting segment.
The whole deal is kind of strange.
EDIT - Ah, I see now the deal is with the whole of the Fox Sports regional networks, not just FSW. So, okay. Proximity of their physical properties to SoCal isn't relevant.

I will always read the name "Bally Sports West" in Bertie Wooster's voice.

I'm sure it will get spur a ton of legit baseball discussion.
You know it. I shall endeavor to live up the high standards the previous "Fire [insert Angels staff member name here]" threads set.

At least you didn't play the "You're 74 years old, don't let what happened to Gene Autry happen to you" card.

Yet apparently, you think that's enough to think Minasian should be fired.
No, technically, I stated that I think it's reason enough to start the "Fire Minasian" thread here. Not exactly the same thing. With a pinch of hyperbole on my part.

Cano should have known better than to take a product named Stanozololololol.

Okay, but we didn't non-tender Keynan at the beginning of 2019, after the surgery. When we was making league minimum. Maybe what ya'll are saying is we should have done it then.
He's gonna likely be finally healthy now, and the approximately $350k or so Arb2 pay increase is now not worth it? I don't get that. Was the $563k for a mostly lost 2019 worth it?

Middleton is probably like 10 or 20 other guys that will be out there to take a flier on.
Really? You have an opportunity to educate me here. Name those 10-20 guys who are:
1. Age 27 or less.
2. Throw upper 90s/touching 100.
3. Have 95+ MLB IP with sub 3.5 ERA, and 9+ K/9.
4. Have team control all the way out through 2023.

So once again, someone somewhere (a MLBTR writer) is taking seriously the idea that Middleton is not worth about $1m next year. Really? It's less than double the league minimum for a guy who has electric stuff and will be entering 2nd year after TJS. That's *exactly* the kind of guy you'd love to find in free agency for only $900k.
As I said in the other thread, if Minasian non-tenders Key, then I will start the "It's Time to Fire Minasian" thread immediately after.

One thing I will be watching for is some indication of a boost to international amateur focus by the middle of next year. Excluding Ohtani (and he was a special case), the Angels have not done well in competing for latin talent in the Dipoto, Eppler eras.
Dipoto gave us Suarez, Barria, Jose Rodriguez and...wait for it...Roberto Baldoqiun. A bit underwhelming.
Ex-Ohtani, Eppler gave us....<crickets>...not much yet. We're still waiting on guys like Knowles, Vera. But I don't see anything elite on the way.
Good teams are getting impact players through international amateur signings. We need to be in there getting some of that elite talent. The international draft *may* be coming for 2023, but there are going to be impact players out there for the taking before then.

Don't know much about the guy but got both things I really cared about:
1. Not Dombrowski.
2. A guy who came up through scouting/development and will value that aspect accordingly.
