If Maitan was as productive as Abreu in his career, that would be great!

The Angels have put themselves in a good position with Trout.
He's had mentors like Torii Hunter and Albert Pujols to help guide his formative years in the league, he plays for a large market team but small enough to keep him out of the spotlight, they've spent money in free agency but have money to spend right now, Trout is the highest paid major leaguer right now as part of the Angels, they've surrounded him with talent like Ohtani and Simmons, and they have a crop of extremely talented prospects coming up like Thaiss, Suarez, Canning, Adell, Marsh, Jones, that will keep this team competitive for years to come.  He's the face of the franchise and Arte will spend whatever it takes to keep the best player maybe ever in Angel red.
There's literally only one thing that would cause Mike Trout to sign with another team, he wants to play back on the east coast.
I think Trout stays in an Angels jersey.

AngelsWin was clammoring for this kid, and I think the posters here were right. I understand him starting the year in AAA. Totally made sense in my mind. But spending a third of the regular season in a league that clearly wasn't challenging him, while the gents above him were collectively hitting .220 maybe looks pretty bad.
He should have been up the first or second week of May.

My bad, Marsh is hitting .256 in the low minors and is striking out at a concerning rate.
But yeah, if we trade him, then our farm is completely depleted.  You must be right.

I think it's hilarious people here think Conforto is a question mark AND value Jorge Soler over him.
Watch him play and tell me he isn't a star. Beautiful left handed swing, power, patience, only 25, controllable for years at a cheap rate.
Think of it like this....most of you believe I'm a major prospect homer. If I'm willing to go part ways with a collection of our best prospects for this kid, that should have elk you something.
Either I suddenly have given up and hate prospects or this Conforto kid is just that good.
I'll give you a hint. It's the second one.

Just so I think we're all clear on the versatility and usefulness of this word.
Dipoto - 1. To screw something up.  2. To lay waste to something.  3. To hoodwink or fool.  4. To trade needlessly, either not improving or actively being worse off after a trade. 5. A collegiate pitcher with low upside, but a high floor.  Very likely to become a AA/AAA starter.
    Used in a sentence....
    1. Wow, they really Dipoto'd the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes.  Now Seattle has no prospects, a ton of international money that needs to be spent, and no free agent international prospects to spend it on.
    2. Since being hired as the GM of the Mariners, Jerry has Dipoto'd their farm system.
    3. "Don't worry guys, I'll Dipoto the media.  they'll love it without realizing how bad this is."
    4. I got bored sitting in my office with nothing to do, so I Dipoto'd and traded our third string catcher for a 32 year old AA reliever.
    5. Dipoto picks shouldn't be in the first round.  More like the 26th.
Alright, so now that you know, feel free to deploy this term to maximum efficiency.

I said it in another thread, or in a PM, can't remember, but at the time I considered JMF the best bat in the minor league system, and likely the 4th best bat on the Angels behind Trout, Upton and Ohtani (Simmons on the DL).  Now that Ohtani is on the DL, it looks to me like JMF is by default, the third best hitter on this team behind Trout and Upton.
He's better than Valbuena, Pujols, Marte, Maldonado, Kinsler, Cozart, and Calhoun/Young/Hermosillo.  Yet those are the guys getting playing time.
It's ridiculous the Angels wasted this much time in calling him up.

I think Igbo I had to throw out a completely random guess out there, I'd say the Angels swing a deal with the Padres.
Something like Brandon Marsh, Joe Gatto and Eduardo Paredes for Brad Hand and Kirby Yates.
It'd an overpay, a painful one at that, but it'd certainly turn our bullpen into a competent functioning one, and Hand and Yates are both under team control for multiple years, so it isn't just a rental.
