I don't know how to explain it--but the pitchers the Angels currently have weren't that good to begin with, so any regression maybe isn't all that surprising in the first place (and there are folks on here that argue that some of the pitchers haven't regressed and are doing just fine if you look at the advanced metrics (e.g., Alex Cobb--who gets credit for his performance?).  Someone like Bundy, who had by far his best metrics ever last year, sure seems to be something of a fluke in a shortened season (also, as I've noted in other threads, if you look at his game-by-games from last season, he really only did well for a few starts).  I just think we have a lot of crappy pitchers and any GOOD performances would actually be more surprising to me than what we're seeing.

He knows his BP is dogshit but takes out his starter at 73 pitches because the batter had a hit off him earlier? What a terrible excuse for an absolute piss poor decision.

Its funny you say this. This is what being an Angel fan is. Most years we hope the season isn't over before summer hits.

Steve Cishek fucks it up just about every time he is in the game but yet stupid Masson keeps putting him in games. So basically I was poor at explaining my position and you misunderstood my meaning. Fine. My ego comment referred that by quoting so many stats seemed going above and beyond the scope of reason to prove someone wrong, when all it would have taken was, " I disagree". I was not bothered by it, it just seemed that you were hell bent to prove a position and I was just conversing. I this was not your point then I apologize, but that's what it seemed like. 
As far as CR, I still think he has tremendous room for growth but yes learning a change was meant to mean control it (change/off-speed). That was my point.

Its not really a criticism but more of an observation. Its one way of doing things that, in my opinion, may not always work. I think as long as a manager is consistent in how they approach in-game decisions then they are doing their job to the best of their ability. Plus the owner/GM can better evaluate what they want. When Dodger fan ripped D. Roberts 2 years ago for removing pitchers early in playoff games, I told them that this is his method and he's consistent. I just think that leaving a pitcher in sometimes to overcome might be more efficient, but that is just opinion.

Witt gave up a HR to Baylor in the 8th.  Gedman was up and he hit a homer off of Witt earlier in the game.  Mauch went with a L on L situation.  Removing Witt was not a bad move.  Lucus beaning Gedman was.

If you follow analytics as a religion then you should be fired.
Analytics are good if they are used to give advice on moves.  There are other aspects to the game that needs to be evaluated.

I never thought or even think that it is a bad idea to have someone warming up. To be able to have the flexibility to bring someone in at a moments notice, so to speak, is good. But I definitely think that today's game lacks the excitement that you get watching a pitcher overcome adversity and battle. Plus some guys excel in these situations. The problem is that the current crop of pitchers have never been placed in this situation and may not be able to handle it.
