Filling out the 3/4/5 slots can be achieved via free agency at a much lower cost and risk than blowing your off season load on a bust top tier pitcher. Greinke might be the one exception to the rule over the past 5 years.

That's a no brainer. You gotta do it. Upton, Trout, Stanton in the OF for 5+ years makes those two easily expendable.

Ducks always play like shit against the Florida teams for whatever reason. We'll get thumped by Tampa for sure too. Don't want to read too much into it but yikes.

They weren't mocking Gallows/Anderson. They both were the leaders of the Bullet Club in Japan. AJ rolled with Gallows/Anderson for a while. It was a really cool nod to that. I'd love a SHIELD vs Bullet Club feud. It's a good idea though so WWE won't do it.

There is something about watching GP cars going through chicanes like slot cars that is facinating to me. First it seems almost impossible they have so little body roll and then being able to keep contact on the course at that speed without spinning out is a mixture of science and balls.
It really did come down to who took third place. After lap 6 it was Hamilton 1 and Vettel 2 for the rest of the race. Now Hamilton needs only to place 5th in the Grand Prix of Mexico to secure his 6th world championship.
 

Its no different every year for the Angels.  The Angels have a set of objectives to start the year, and the organization meets them.
The objectives, in no particular order, are:
Have some bobblehead nights Celebrate Pujols passing some old or dead guys on some all-time lists Watch Trout be great Announce that there were 3,000,000 fans Cash the Fox Sports West and MLB revenue sharing checks  
Arte looks over the list the day after the season ends, see that all the boxes have been checked, calls Scioscia to congratulate him on another year, then calls the guy to put Christmas decorations on the yacht.  
Then we'll go through the same thing next year.

I'm not going to "blast" you but why weren't you impressed by him? 
His 137 OPS+ over a full season would have been 2nd best on the team by a significant margin. 

There's plenty of reasons for him to opt out.
1- His stock has grown since he signed the first deal.
2- CA sales tax will take a large chunk of that existing money. So signing a new deal would essentially replace the money he's due to lose in taxes.
 
There's zero reason for him not to opt out. Plenty of players opt out and re-sign with the same team. That's why the opt out clause is there.

I am not waiting for Cals.

I definitely agree that there are some bright spots to the season. Hell, I thought we'd lose 90+ again for sure. Seeing this team take a much needed leap forward from their initial projections is great to see. Keeping Upton is a must. Getting a proven arm is a must as well. This current crop of pitchers are so unreliable and unproven. I'm still not 100% sold on Cron. Unfortunately we don't have many better options. When he's hitting it's great but when he's not.. Yikes. I'd love to have that protected pick that allows us to spend in FA and also have that pick to further bolster this farm system. Can't have it all though hah.

The 1st round picks are no longer lost when signing a premium FA, per the newest CBA.   It's the subsequent round(s) that are impacted.
